It's an Xbox 360 indie cult classic that gave me countless memories for dirt cheap. What more is there to say?

Original Review: 2020, 14.2 hours played.

Far Cry 5 is great fun. A whole lot of action packed fun. Pure chaos. Aside from a few frustrations, such as having to restart one mission from a checkpoint due to a bug, and the annoying "leaving the mission area" failures, I've had a lot of fun. The story isn't bad at all but the pacing is quite off due to the structure of the game being much more sandbox focused. I'd suggest using the Resistance Mod to fix some of the annoying things that were never addressed, like bodies disappearing when you liberate an outpost as well as just straight up improving the game in tons of areas with more content.

9/10 most fun I've had in a game in years. Cannot recommend buying it at full price though due to slightly lackluster DLC and some frustrations. The game won't, and hasn't, pleased every Far Cry fan. But I'm pretty happy so far.

Edit: 2023, 123.3 additional hours played.

Far Cry 5 has aged like fine wine.

Edit 2025, 197 additional hours played.

This game doesn't really get old.

Doom 3: BFG Edition is a flawed remaster of a flawed game. It loses much atmosphere by making the lighting much brighter, and removing the mechanic of switching between your gun and flashlight. However, some people prefer it that way. So it really depends on your personal preference. I found the game to be much easier. It's okay and I found it to be enjoyable enough, but it's not my cup of tea. It's not complete garbage though, which is why I'm giving it a thumbs up.

Is it worth the money? Yes and no. If you liked Doom 3 but hated the flashlight and lighting, go ahead and grab it. If you preferred the more tense atmosphere of the original, get that one instead.

The versions of Doom 1 and 2 are censored here, and I recommend buying the non censored versions here on steam. I especially recommend the classic complete bundle. However, if you really want to have the No Rest For The Living expansion for Doom 2, you can only get that in BFG Edition. If I'm being honest, that is the only reason I bought this. So I could play No Rest For The Living in GZDoom.

In conclusion: Personally, I prefer the original Doom 3 with the Redux mod. But it's ultimately up to you to decide what you prefer. If you're a die hard completionist like me, get it on sale so you can nab No Rest For The Living. Even if you don't like BFG Edition or Doom 3.

Doom 3 is a flawed entry in the Doom series. It was the black sheep of the series for awhile. Is it a bad game? Nope. I enjoy it enough, especially with the Redux mod. But it's easy to forget this is a Doom game and not a generic sci fi horror shooter sometimes. Redux greatly improves many things, and I would check it out if I were you.

In conclusion: It's not a bad game, but it's not for everyone. Do some research first and look at the BFG Edition before making your decision. I personally prefer the original with Redux.
