TLDR; Would recommend it, but not recommend it currently till it is patched.


There is a general issue with the engine where the game itself will run fine on high settings, but the engine decides to throttle the performance without touching the hardware.

When running playing normal, there is no performance issues, even at high settings. Furthermore, when leave the outside instance to indoor instance, and then head back into outside instance, there are times the engine will decide to throttle.

During that point, the FPS count will drop completely but will not touch the hardware.

The hardware during that point is not being fully used. This includes when programs are all off, and FPS count is still very low, even with hardware that is able to run it at high settings, and run stable FPS.

When do save in the outside instance, during engine decides to throttle. The saves will not only crash the game itself when loading into them but also lock up the main menu. After many times launching the game three times, it will be stable. Nonetheless, when load from outdoor save during that moment (even before with two autosaves), it will lock up the game and must go back to fully restarting the game again.

To solve this requires a manual save at different points from indoor instances to allow the game to be stable. When move back outdoors, it is stable again. Until the engine decides to throttle the performance outside.

Inside instances, there is no issues with performance.

Overall, fully enjoying the game. The performance side is fine both outside and indoors, but issue is with the unreal engine. The issues are annoying and do ruin it. When the game is stable, it is all good, and highly recommend it.

Edit: Currently system has RTX 2070 Super, I5 9600k, 16GB of RAM, and M.2 SSD as main storage drive for OS and the game.

I wish there is a middle of a pack button on Steam, but I give it a recommendation because I enjoy the game, mainly because I love weird games.

Nonetheless, would not recommend it to a lot of people unless they have weird taste in games. For myself, being an delivery person in a post-apocalyptic setting by only walking is great. While managing your balance and amount you take, RNG element with the ghosts and planning ahead in the setting is great.

Reminds me of Elite Dangerous of taking cargo ship from one space station to another space station. Some take two real life hours to travel at light speed (hutton orbital for example) or have moments when your ship can get out of speed of light from another player or non-player while going at a short distance.

Overall, if love games like euro truck simulator or elite dangerous with a mix of postal, I highly recommend it.

I would not recommend the game in its current state. As much I wanted to play this game from someone that read all the books, played all the games in the series, and waited for a year for it to be on steam.

Before started playing the game, I had turned off my anti-virus and additional programs off to get more performance out. However, I experienced a lot of crashing soon booting up the game, including screen tearing, and hard crashed my OS, that I had to reset my whole computer. Nonetheless, after a lot of crashes, fixing the in game settings, eventually played the game and experienced no performance issues (my computer meets the minimal requirements). However, then the game crashed up on a loading screen and lost a bit of progress, but not a lot. Later on, was able to get into the new area volga, and came off the game for a bit, when came back to the game, the game hard crashed my OS again, and more screen tearing.

Luckily, was able to get a refund for this game. I was so looking forward to this game from all the positive reviews, but it needs fixing.

P.S my pc runs on windows 10 with i5 6600, 8gb ram with an gtx 1060 3gb and have had no issues with my hard drive running over video games etc, with ssd running os.
