“You ask me? It's simple, eh.
They kill you, They're better.
You kill them, You're better…”

Kuben Blisk, The leader of an elite mercenary unit known as “Apex Predators” said it best about this game of survival. As a love letter to the TITANFALL franchise, APEX LEGENDS takes place in the same universe thus fracturing similar weapons and playstyles to those who are Veterans of TITANFALL will recognize and feel right at home with this Tactical Squad-Based Battle Royale.

A Battle Royal may make you question the lack of a story to be either you win or you die but APEX LEGENDS provides a continuation of TITANFALL’s Lore and Worldbuilding beginning with the Legends, The characters that you play as with 6 unlocked from the start. Each with their unique background and style from larger than life characters like the famed Makoa ‘Gibraltar’ the Shielded Fortress whose presence on the battlefield can always be felt to the mysterious hunter ‘Bloodhound’ the Technological Tracker who quickly and quietly starks their prey to eliminate them in the name of the Old Gods, they may best complement Anita ‘Bangalore’ Williams the Professional Soldier, a weapons expert and an offensive powerhouse and the Combat Medic Ajay Che, A.K.A ‘Lifeline’ who’s healing abilities and emergency supplies can tip the scales in your favour or everyone’s favourite M.R.V.N Unit ‘Pathfinder’ the Forward Scout specialist armed with a grappling hook and zip-line but let’s not forget Renee Blasey the Interdimensional Skirmisher, She is the tormented ‘Wraith’ who has learned to trust the voices in her head, A side effect of phasing between infinite dimensions. With them are 2 more to unlock as the game progresses. Elliott ‘Mirage’ Witt the Holographic Trickster who is the Fan-Favorite jokester that commands Holo-Tech makes him a master of deception and my personal favourite (& my main) Dr. Alexander Maxwell Nox or 'Caustic' the Toxic Trapper this sociopath relishes the final moments of his victims as they die to his toxic chemicals. Each Legend brings with them a variety of backstory and lore that expands with new Legends that are introduced each season but the true flavour is the gameplay.

APEX LEGENDS has revolutionized the Battle Royale gameplay into new heights, not only is it the ultimate test of survival but as the season’s progress, we are introduced to new maps and gameplay mechanics that offer a wide range of tactical challenges. APEX LEGENDS was the first to introduce innovative gameplay styles such as the drop, as a squad-based game each squad consists of 3 Legends and are assigned a jumpmaster and when the jumpmaster chooses to drop the whole squad exits the dropship together. If you find yourself in one of the marked hot-zones you better loot up quickly because you will find yourself in a fight almost immediately. APEX LEGENDS provides fast-phase combat compared to other shooters with memorable gameplay moments that will leave you breathless therefor keeping your entire squad alive is crucial and if a squadmate goes down move quickly to revive them so they can get back in the fight but if they do die all hope is not lost. You have a short window to recover your fallen teammate’s banner card that you can bring to the nearest Respawn beacon and call them back into the fight but be careful, Everyone will see your Respawn ship and your returning teammate will have no gear when they arrive so make sure you are prepared. Strategy and communication are essential to a squad's success in APEX LEGENDS and thus “Respawn Entertainment” introduce the world’s first ping system that features context-sensitive smart-comms that allow legends to quickly share information with their squad (& for the first time play a game where you don’t have to talk to your teammates.) Finding the right gear is just as important, A single pickup can be the difference between victory and defeat. The Apex arena features a robust arsenal of weapons and gear that fellow TITANFALL Veterans will find familiar such as the classical R-301 Carbine Assault rifle, the agile Prowler Burst PDW SMG, heavy-hitting Mastiff shotgun to deadly Devotion LMG and the unstoppable (Literally) Kraber .50-Cal Sniper. There is something for everyone but you should be mindful of the encroaching ring. It can easily spoil your plans or used wisely can be the key to victory.

The frontier of TITANFALL continues to evolve with the stories and games of APEX LEGENDS and with each seasonal events bringing new challenges and opportunities the true glory comes from the Legend’s style as you climb higher in the ranks, A host of customizations and cosmetic loot will become available to you. Using these to deck out your apparel and weapons to show the whole arena. We’ve only seen the beginning of what’s in store for those brave enough to step foot into the arena to avoid getting third-partied and with the new season around the corner, all I want to know is do you think you've got what it takes?

"Where must we go,
We who wander this wasteland,
In search of our better selves..."

This quote is best, I think if you have to describe 'MAD MAX' and as a video game, it delivers on what George Miller vision for this universe of post-apocalypse carnage and slaughter. From the wasteland to its people ‘MAD MAX’ stays true to the movies – especially “Fury Road” on the story.

The story is what you expect it to be, you the lone Road Warriors wanders the desert and search for better loot to make “The Magnum Opus”; a beast of a machine that defies the laws of physics and blow anything that comes your way. And by the gods do they come your way. From the War Boys to The Buzzards anything that you find on the open road wants to kill you and you get to go full Mad Max on them. While it is not connected to the “Fury Road” storyline there are many elements of the story found it the Gameplay, That is to say, the gameplay is a total pedal to the metal in action and adventurer.

The gameplay is BAD-ASS, while the grinding elements of modifying “The Magnum Opus” can get tedious at times, the ground combat and car combat is over the top action. If you are a fan of the “BATMAN: ARKHAM” series you will feel right at home with the gameplay mechanics in fighting (and unlike Batman you can tell them fools are dead when Max punch the lights out of them) but if you are an achievement hound like me the game offers great reliability due to the need for exploring the vast open world and as you explore you unlock new modifications to unlock certain achievements.

As a fan of the Mad Max movie series, I love the game and if you are a fan of the movies as well I highly recommend that you try the game out for yourself, ‘MAD MAX’ is chrome.
