TL:DR -- Recommend -- Excellent gameplay and plenty to do. Nice QOL changes from World allowing you to enjoy exploration more than earlier titles. Palicos don't deserve to speak. Not great for lower end hardware, but worth picking up on a console if you don't care where you play. --Hunting Horn Rulez

First off, it's MH at its core. Big fights, weird multiplayer, cats, burnt steak because you stopped paying attention for a second. While the downfalls in performance are glaring on older systems as stated in many other reviews, the gameplay is exactly what you'd expect with a MH title. The follow up to what World deserved, and getting better with each update. The quality of life changes from World make Wilds feel familiar while giving you more room to breathe than world did. With your Base Camps not being its own instance or location outside of the various biomes, you can just run out and find something to smack. Creating and launching quests straight from your map based on the locale. But for the love of god a Palico should never do anything but meow. Change that setting immediately.

So I recommend this to anyone who wishes to dig their teeth into a new Monster Hunter with the understanding that if you're going to play it on PC, make sure you've got the specs to run it. I'm running every graphics setting on its highest (no high rez texture pack tho cause it eats your VRAM). Ryzen 9 5900X, RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, installed on M.2

If your PC is older, or you're lacking some headroom on VRAM or whatever, its cross platform so its worth picking up on a console if you've got one where its available, since you can still get in Discord with whoever you normally would play with or just solo grind like a masochist.
