This might be my first review prompted by seeing other reviews containing some odd misunderstandings and weird complaints. TLDR: this is for fans of SI's Football Manager who wants a quick easy management game to bash through seasons with. The card battling aspect is not really the main thing about it at all. It has a solid take on the 90s office interface like Football Manager 3 on the ZX Spectrum, but actually has enough depth to grab you like both of those games.

Some of the concepts and mechanics are rather under explained, or left obscure, which I see as the only real failing. The tutorial is helpful but still overwhelming, as are the help prompts, and leave some things unexplained (like scouting/headhunting).

Those complaining you can't play every match without simulating some: you can absolutely do this if you play one full season first. Just select "Hardcore" mode, which is visible and explains itself, but is greyed out on your initial season.

Those saying that player attributes mean nothing: if you actually improve your team you will notice a big difference. The players do "pop up randomly in game", but it is those player vs. player battles where the stats matter and adjust the percentages greatly in the favour of the higher stat player. There's also training on specific situations and fitness (which decreases more as you interject more cards in a situation) that will affect these battles. Additionally, it is very noticable when you have a better team that the simulated games will go your way much more smoothly.

Those complaining about the RNG and percentages not going their way: this is kind of the point of the game. Unless something is certain, it is not certain. 80% chance of goal doesn't mean you've been cheated if you don't score. For those of you still confused by this, I would recommend the game Unfair Flips for a crash course in probability.

Got 9 in a row shortly after my 100th flip and almost won the game at 30% heads probability. Took 728 flips in the end, but think of the odds of that first 9 in a row. I should definitely gamble. That's the message right?

I loved Monu's previous games and at less than $2 there was no reason not to jump on this right away. Does not disappoint so far, nice chill idle game.

Use of AI assets is bad enough, but undisclosed use of AI is the worst.

Also, "Full release" yet 3/4 game modes locked and unplayable in Solo mode with a "Coming Soon" tag is a bit odd.

EDIT: I appreciate the developer responding to this. However, use of genAI during development should ALWAYS be disclosed on the Store page, even if assets have been purged. Other developers use the AI disclosure section even when they have used AI for storyboarding or concept art only. These are in-game assets in a released version. Secondly, there is nothing indicating the single-player experience is an in-progress post-release feature on the store page. It states only that there is single-player and that there are 4 game modes.

My original comments are still valid. Update the store page.

Terminal based hacking gameplay is decently fun, at least for an hour. However, I made the mistake of not checking the AI disclaimer before purchase and found that it's riddled with slop.

The kicker here is there are some anti-AI themes present in the storyline and the last straw was finding the nudes of "Elan Mask" to be a 0% body fat hunk, with no suggestion in the game's narrative that THESE images might be AI. C'mon, we've all seen the CyberTorso pics.

Maybe it's just nostalgia for me, but personally I keep coming back to role-play a drunken lout in 80's England.

People saying there is no more than 4 hours of content either don't like that whole setting, or don't actually like the free form building where, yes, there's a small chance something will glitch a bit and smash some portion of what you were busy building, which can indeed be frustrating.

However, I don't know of any other game where you can let off steam in-game by going for an 8 pint pub lunch, get kicked out for vomiting on the barmaid, then go back to the worksite and use your boozy piss to make the mortar to repair your dream home (or whatever decrepit rental coffin you have decided to construct).

Short Asteroids style game with some idle and progression tree mechanics. Absolutely worth the tiny price.

I've been interested in this game since release and have been holding out to get it on sale. It's currently 20% off and worth every penny. I've played 25 hours in the last 4 days, just unlocked Helldiver difficulty (Level 9/10) and don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

I have been playing with randoms and haven't seen any problems so far. However, I would suggest hosting your own games as you run through the difficulties from the start (just choosing a mission and jumping in, but leaving your party open for joiners - or even popping an SOS beacon), just so you get to choose where/who you fight and what type of missions you want to do. That way you'll get to grips with everything at your own pace, no risk of getting kicked from a game and also get some cooperative action, which you will need for the harder difficulties.

On the subject of warbonds (kind of battlepasses), I'm not even halfway through the free one. Only need 50 SC to afford a paid one, so don't see myself needing to spend real money at any point, as you will earn the currency just by playing. And boy do I enjoy playing!

Early Access Review
Nominated for Sit Back and Relax award 2024 (and now 2025 too somehow). This is billed as a multiplayer battler, but it's really just a cosy inventory organisation simulator. Don't be afraid of ranked games, it's just shoving things in a backpack and letting them do their thing!

BUYER BEWARE: There is a game-breaking bug 5-10 hours into the game, where your savegame will simply wipe itself of most data. Purchased items, money, skill tree choices, and progress on various actions will simply revert to a new game state. The autosave happens every time you sleep (no manual saves), there is only one save slot (simply New Game, or Load on the Main Menu) and it is done through the registry (so if you do buy, I suggest you read the guides on how to back up your save before starting and you need to be comfortable with RegEdit).

I have requested a refund, but time will tell if that will be allowed as I had played for nearly 6 hours when my save self destructed.

As it is, the game is (as expected) super janky, with some really annoying mechanics, but gameplay is still fun and addictive underneath. If my progress had not been wiped, I would probably have been happy with the sale purchase.
