Early Access Review
The game has a lot of potential, and I loved to play it in the demo, but as it is today, I think the game is really unfair and luck based, I've played a lot of medium difficulty runs and I didn't got past the very first floor, there are too few oportunities to regenerate health, and there was a lot of times when I simply couldn't protect the HP of the character during the run, because de ICEs hit really hard, and the base deck couldn't keep with it. Overall, the difficulty spike seems awfull and I sincerly don't want to play the game as it is right now. That's too sad...

UPDATE:
Since the game was updated in december 30th, I felt the fights much more balanced, at least in the medium difficulty runs (which were my problems initially), I managed to win on my first try, even with the character that was the weakest in my opinion. A shoutout to the devs for listening!

TLDR: The game is very original and has a lot of replayability, and the recent price localization finally made it reasonable to give it a shot.

This game is a fresh take on the overly saturated deck building rogue-lite genre, the art is very good, and the whole "protect the city" concept and lore gives the game a really good identity.
Speaking of mechanics, the game has a really interesting concept that divides your deck in two instances:
The Lantern deck - which is something like a city guardian, focused on making units stronger or giving them shield.
Units deck - Which changes depending on which units you bring to a fight, and can be changed. (the units need carefull placement in the field as well)
This gives each run much diversity and the game have at the moment 2 factions with very unique identities and a third one is planned do be added during early acess.

I had some really mixed feelings playing this one.
TLDR: The art is gorgeous, the sinergies are there, but the game simply lacks content (even with the new unlockables update).
I played this game demo when it first came out, and now on Auntum sale I finaly gave it a go, but after two runs with the blue faction, one with the green, and a victory with a deck made of red and blue together, I didn't felt that compeling feeling to play another run like so many other deck-building rogue-lites.

The game have 18 different enemies, and their desing are amazing, just as the way their powers seems so tailor made. BUT, at the end of the day, there are only 18 of them and that's about it.

Now about the faction, boy if you like the deck-building part, you're going to starve here, you have a deck limit, and by the middle to late part of a run, you have to replace some of the cards you've choosen with new ones (yes you can't get pass a maximum of cards) and that crippled the experience for me. Other than that, even though the fact that, there are many cool concepts with the cards, the combat loop feels a lot like Ascension BoardGame, which frankly is the worse part of that game.

So for the lack of replayability deck-wise and enemy-wise plus the fact that the combat is kind of shallow, I don't recommend getting this game for the actual price that it costs, specially for people like me who are not from USA. Maybe someday if the game get a 50% or more discount, I will buy it again for the art and the concept.

The game has an awesome history, your choises DO matter, and the mistery behind what's going on bind you to the game till the very end. The only bad part IMO is the lack of replayability, you probably won't want to play again because you would have to start over and see the same things again, and the way the game works.. well let's just say you can't go back to other characters after certain parts of the game.
