In a way, really reminded me of "To The Moon" - with a cool little unique mechanic on top. A heartfelt story that spoke to me more than most.

A truly special indie. The type of ♥♥♥♥ Lovecraft would write if he didn't die in 1937.
I need to start off by saying: I am really bad (really a ♥♥♥♥♥) with the horror genre. I hate horror movies, and almost all horror games. I am however a huge fan of Cosmic/Lovecraftian horror, a collection of the Cthulhu Mythos is sitting on top of one of my shelves right now. I am also a big fan of one of the only psychological horror series that didn't turn me off, Silent Hill.

Well, this game kind of combines both. If you like psychological horror games enough to not get filtered by this game's resource management difficulty and overall gameplay loop, this is something really worth playing. You will set off on a journey where it's clear there are higher powers in play, nothing quite makes sense, and you are surrounded by horrifying amalgamations all around.

The gameplay is the same as any Silent Hill, just top-down. You manage your resources, understand the world through cryptic messages spread through it, and solve pretty straight-forward puzzles. I will however say that the Radio Frequency mechanic and it's puzzles are super unique and awesome.
What really sells this game is the plot. It's perplexing, deep, makes you question what you are doing and what is even going on, it's lovecraftian - however do not go into this expecting coherent answers. That's simply not how it works. It is possible to piece the majority of the timeline together, however a lot of things, especially the endings, are up to you to figure out, and there is no real canon answer.

My only complaint is that the game walks a very thin line between references/call-backs and being a copycat - a lot. Most of the enemy design is straight up just Silent Hill. A notable example: Look up The Chimera from act 2 and then Flesh Lips from Silent Hill 2. However, this is cherry picking and doesn't matter all that much.

Overall a super enjoyable short piece for both veterans and newbies to the genre. If you appreciate the genre and indie games I'd say this is a must.

Everyone who reads this already knows the story and what it's about, but yeah, it's still the best.

Fact: Pyramid Head didn't go after Sunderland because he was guilty or something, Pyramid Head was just too afraid to run the fade with Hinako.

Honestly kind of my bad for preordering this. Was really hyped for this and was playing Destiny quite plenty prior, somehow managed to kill it for me. Honestly kind of impressive.

It makes the game run as bad as the base-game reviews would have you believe, while offering practically nothing. It's just a "make your game unplayable" setting.
