I'll preface this by saying, I do actually enjoy the 'game' BUT what I don't enjoy is the general direction and philosophy the devs have as time has progressed.

The game itself is fun, if you want to just play a few rounds it's great. It's a nice game for a short term period.
Although if you are someone who tends to stick to one game and it becomes your main game that you play so it ends up being long term, I wouldn't suggest this game for you.

The thing is that the devs tetnd to keep going in a direction that conflicts with the idea of 'fun' that the players have and it's been shown constantly with how they make changes with their balance updates. For some reason they keep balancing this game as if it is a competitive PvP scene where it ends up that a fair bit of the guns feel extremely mediocre. There other situations with other changes that are in a similar manner and it has led tthe community to feel that the devs are constantly 'balancing out the fun' in a PvE game which is confusing.

So that's why I say, if you wish to only play this game in the short term, you won't notice any of these changes but if you play for a longer period of time, you'll end up experiencing these changes over time and noticing the general direction they are going where fun doesn't seem to be their focus and the constant small changes they keep making reduce the overall fun of the game. Just one quick example of this is in the August update, they updated the flamethrower weapons to no longer bypass enemies, so your flames will collide with the first line of enemies, any enemies behind the first line will be protected...in a PvE horde like shooter game, it essentially makes the flamethrower less appealing to use in a...horde shooter game. Also talking about the flamethrower change, to reflect the change they made, the visuals were also updated and it changed from an amazing stream of flame being spewed out of the flamethrower to look more like blobs of sprite being shot out, so the visuals end up being downgraded.

It's stuff like this overtime that makes you question what are the devs doing and it constantly happens every update.

Game short term is good but long term it's questionable where the quality of the game will be.

Played it for a few hours, from that somewhat short experience what I can say is;

Pros:
- It plays great, I didn't notice anything major like bugs or so. It was a smooth gaming experience.

- The transition to running about and then joining up with players as a solo player was good.

Cons:
- I wasn't pulled into the story, so I was instantly thrown in to the 'lets go shoot things asap'

- Starting off, there are so many things that aren't explained to you, so you will probably spend a good chunk of time at the start just looking at all the options and whatnot in the game trying to understand what is what.

- because of how the story wasn't engaging, you are left to your own devices, you just end up wandering about and then you start doing random things. That is when you notice, this is probably what you will do for the entire game. And after you have done a few 'dungeons' and you start repeating them, it will feel very repetitive since there is no sort of end goal.

- As the story felt weak, it feels like I have to had played destiny 1 to really get into it.

- Currently now, the game was something like over 90gb to install, while I read in the future they are cutting content to cut down the size. There is a bit of a worry that there will be less older content and you would end up repeating whatever current content there is much more often. It's a strange balance they have to make.

Game does not run well, poor port. Could not even play 5 minutes into the start of the game before facing errors (whitescreen), even tried FAR mod to no avail.

If you want to play this game you are better off playing it on a console (if you can) otherwise forget about it. Getting this game is a gamble if you fall into the people who either face no problems or the others like myself where the game simply doesn't work. Don't waste your money.

Picked this up because it was on sale, thought I'd try it out as I have played the Neptune games which also share the same maker as Trillion.

To be honest the game was quite boring, it is sort of a dating sim with some small dungeons you can try out. Once you know what to do it becomes very repetitive, with the whole do this option to gain more stat for STR/INT/etc. You do this over and overto acquire more points so you can get stronger to kill a boss that has trillion HP. It seemed like a good idea when I looked at it but upon actually trying it out, too much of the dating sim aspect bored me.

Due to how repetitive and boring it was, I'm glad I didn't buy this at full price.

Life is Strange is a fantastic game, as it is a story based game there is no combat or such to take part in, you merely choose actions that play out in the story.

The only other game that I've played similiar to this would be Telltale's 'The Walking Dead', so I had some expectactions of what was to come. Something to point out between those two games is that in TWD when you are given choices sometimes you are given a timer where you have to quickly make a decision; in Life is Strange, you don't get these quick decision making moments, although you'll be presented with a tough decision you are able to step back and think it before you make your choice at your leisurely pace.

As it is widely known the games soundtrack is amazinly well down in the selection of music used to play out scenes, I found myself being entranced by the choice of music during various moments in the game where I would stop and just listen to the music choice as well as the scenery you are given. If you end up playing this game you will also experience the tranquility.

The games unique mechanic is a great part for gamers who often feel like they are missing out or certain dialogues/chat because you are able to rewind back you can replay dialogues you didn't originally choose whereas in other games you'd feel the compulsion to save on multiple slots or completely start over (although this can be the case too for when you make big decision but for small generic choices you can experience them all).

The voice acting is very well down, the main characters voice acting really brings them to life.

Some minor issues I had;
- In some scenes the facial/mouth animations were not playing so while something important was going on, the voices were going but you would be fixated on their expressionless faces and their closed mouths.
- Although the main character has just turned 18 to me I felt like she looked much younger like 15 or so. So that was a little off putting for me as I kept thinking "Did developers really set the ages right?"

I've always enjoyed things that have had great storylines and Life is Strange is definitely one of those. So if you enjoy good stories, then Life is Strange is absolutely something you should check out.
