Only around 3 hours in so far but I'm really enjoying it. Combat system is very fun, Alex Roe's music is great as always, and bosses so far have been stellar. There have been some minor bugs so far, like a specific enemy's attack audio looping if you parry them during that one attack (the big stone guy's spinning attack in Underheads) but nothing game breaking so far and I'm sure they'll be fixed soon given the first game's support.

I didn't really love the first game, just thought it was an above average metroidvania, but I think this is a pretty big improvement so far and I'd recommend it from what I've experienced.

Story is pretty neat (even if it's all over the place), combat is pretty good, level design is honestly trash. I'm mostly giving it a negative review just because I think the current reviews don't reflect how good the actual game is. A lot of people wanted to like this game before they even bought it. It's fine, at most a 7/10. Wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

Great game, leaving a negative review for how incredibly stupid and anti consumer EA is for quietly removing it from Steam.

It's like Assassin's Creed with worse parkour and a weirdly bad story (at least in the time I've played). Stupid story examples include Talion getting betrayed in the most predictable ways you can imagine, Gollum showing up for a cameo and adding nothing to the game (Voiced by someone doing a bad Gollum impression), Talion fighting a Balrog but the Balrog just kinda gets up and leaves, and Talion doing vague errands for Shelob for 2 hours after she steals his ring. There's basically no story, you just kinda bounce around from one thing to another.

The game is incredibly bloated, it's like one of those Ubisoft titles with things all over the map with icons above them, just begging you to find them. These range from kinda fun distractions to incredibly boring and uninspired time wasters. The only good ones involve the Nemesis System™ which is the one absolutely massive saving grace of the game. The Nemesis System™ is the only reason I have as many hours in this game as I do, it's very fun. For you that might save the entire experience, for me it doesn't.

Talion's head also looks too big for his body

Pretty good RE/Silent Hill style game with amazing art direction and a good, fairly convoluted story that feels very surreal and personal. The combat is okay, the inventory sucks, the level design is okay, and the butterfly safe puzzle made me want to kill myself

8/10

After almost 8 hours in the game I really can't say I enjoyed my time with it. Main issue is just with the level design being weirdly obtuse and boring. First level was fine, easily my favorite, but after that you have dead ends all over the place, one literally at the end of the area so you have to backtrack. There's lots of running in circles, and one of the most vague "puzzles" I've ever seen in a game to get into castle le fanu. Turns out a lot of players feel the same and drop the game at that point. If you enjoy going through small dungeon areas for extended periods of time with barely any loot or interest to speak of, then maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did. Some other gripes I have are the numerous references to other media that take you out of the experience, and the uninteresting characters that aren't designed to look like they're even from this game's universe.

It's not all bad. The music is pretty good, the atmosphere is nice, and it's honestly a vibe exploring areas for the first time. I just wish that vibe wasn't ruined by the boredom that quickly follows 90% of the time.
