It's been a while since I've found a game, I can both, switch on for a casual 30 minute, quick session or grind out for a solid 6-8 hours, without realising the time.

If you want a laugh, this game provides the stage. If you want to sweat, get ready to mop that brow of yours.

My preference so far is playing with a friend, but that's not to say you can't enjoy it solo, because you most certainly can, and it's still great fun.

I've also tried the random matchmaking, and 9/10 you're going to have a great time, with absolutely no issues. Sometimes, you'll get exactly what I am, someone new to the game, and they may need a bit of help, or the inevitable troll, determined to grief, but it's so rare, it can be shrugged off.

Best advice I can give as a fairly new player, take your time with things, and don't be afraid to try new stratagems. I didn't even consider gas wepons and orbitals, but I've found them to be some of the most useful.

Highly recommended, for anyone who likes controlled chaos, or destroying a bee hive with a mini nuke.

New Player Review 59 Hours into the game.

General run down

Wanted to wait until I had completed my first 50 hours, which took a week. I started grinding very quickly and the game really draws you in. Found myself watching YouTube guides, and joining discords and forums. First big plus to the community. Many very helpful players and creators to help guide. The game-play is smooth and i mean smooth, for maps it feels fluid to move around and the gun-play is on par with the best. Story at the start is very compelling.

Where i'm at at 59 Hours

- Master Rank 6
- 4 Warframes
- 14 Weapons
- 3 Companions
- Planets to Uranus unlocked
- Joined an active clan
- 40% of Steam achievements unlocked

Its been awhile since i've dipped my toes into a new game. I main Destiny 2 and Minecraft, after seeing a friend play warframe i quickly noticed a few things i liked the look of. Being a looter shooter, my love for Destiny already prepared me for the grind, so i thought. It's not a game i can get to endgame in a day, it requires both a grind and patience as a free-to-play player. It really is free-to-play also. In game currencies come in use for those that want to speed up the process.

The story is extremely compelling and they have a very good way at presenting lore. I've found the community and creators to be very talented in this aspect as well. The game offers fluid choices and variety, giving the player options right from the start phases to go down different paths and discover stories.

Talking about the community. So far it's been nothing short of a warm welcome and helpful veterans of the game. That's a sign i like to see. It's very easy to get so endgame focused, you forget about those not even close. With a game that takes time to build up, it's important new players don't feel bottle necked so soon into a game. I'm pleased to say i haven't found that to be the case,

I've played solo, with friends and in public open lobbies. All providing fun experiences without any issues, you have complete control over who and if you want to play with anyone in your team. My only negative here is cross platform friends, clans and trading. I've heard from others that some of these features may be coming to the game.

Relics are my favourite so far. Appear to be very active with the community, easy to come by and varying levels of difficulty, not to mention many different types of missions to pick from.

In conclusion, i will be playing for many more hours and weeks to come. A very positive experience and all in all a brilliant game. Has its bugs, but meh, with how the game flows, it's very quick to get onto the next mission or task. The community is the highlight element, I've been super impressed with that right from the beginning. Highly recommend.

Low rewards High Prices - For a poker game you'd expect the free reward they give to at least give you enough for 1 Sit and Go tournament, but alas no. In fact, 10 won't always do it. Which in turn means having to spend real money to get in-game tokens that have no financial value, certainly not to the all-in-on-anything bots you find with these semi-free to play games. The player base is super low at a variety of times throughout the day, it can take upwards of 15 minutes just to get a game. Only positive is the ability to create and host your own private games.

Thought I'd update my review since my last was based on a very different Destiny 2 game. WARNING THIS IS A LONG READ!

First off, I'd still highly recommend Destiny 2 as a game to anyone interested.

Since the early days of Destiny 1 i have been a player, i have over 2,000 collective Hours on Destiny 2. It's been a game i have invested time and money into, like many other players. It's resulted in meeting people from all over the world, making friends without borders, pushing my skills to new levels and being inspired far more than ever before.

I watched a video on YouTube not long ago, it was about a player who struggled to find friends on the game and as a result had a very bad taste for the game. That's where i think it's all about expectation management. Part of this game just isn't going to be accessible to the casual solo player, not through a lack of want, but just because several activities really do require a level of teamwork you can't even get from random LFG teams with no communication.

I do believe a lot of what I love about Destiny is hidden behind this curtain that separates what can be a solo game and what is built for the team player. I say built for, because often a select few individuals from the player base go above and beyond, and look to tackle these solo. So it can be a solo game, right? Well weirdly enough, i see these players who solo flawlessly the latest dungeon, and often enough they are deep long-term players who belong to a clan and play with others as well. That challenging element doesn't equal a solo game.

This is not to say, Destiny 2 can't be played solo or even enjoyed as a solo player. It's just about your expectations. Want to complete the new raid of the season? Well you're probably going to need 5 other players and at the very least be prepared to have or use some form of communication.

It's also important to note, that Destiny isn't just one type of game. You see this frequently from both positive and negative feedback. A section of the community that may strictly keep to the PvE side may not be dissatisfied with the game if for example, there aren't any new PvP maps for a large chunk of time. This confuses outside gamers more, they see someone who's completely turned away from the game for XYZ reason, Seeing that negative feedback, and translating it to mean, a bad game. Not realising, how they play the game and what part of the game they would play, would be vastly different.

When I've introduced friends to the game, i often find running the campaigns with them, filling them in with some stuff no longer in the game and answering questions they might have to be very beneficial. I feel like the ghost can be a much better guide in these parts. The in-game lore is brilliant, but it's to reliant on an as and when you discover it ethos. That can be confusing if you've joined part-way through the game and have content no longer available. This has partly been solved with some legacy re-playable missions, with some narrative added. Other than that, my go-to has been the default MyNameIsByf videos.

So, this is where i get to my personal gripes, and it really is just that. We've all got preferences and tastes, these are just mine.

The routine is far too stagnant for my liking. With daily and weekly bounties almost being predictable. X amount of kills with this weapon type, X amount of kills with this ability type. Why not mix them up further, and guide people to specific activities to do these in, specific campaign missions/strikes? Often the default is to just go to the most simple and efficient place to do said bounty. What is most efficient, isn't always the most creative, the most enjoyable. It sort of feels like a chore right now.

One of Bungie's strong points, in my opinion, was its communication. Its presentations to players. I'm sure many of us are very familiar with Twitter (Or X now) @BungieHelp profile. This has been the default for many, even other services and media accounts, sourcing information from this account. I'd certainly prefer other platforms in addition to this but one of the biggest places to have it, in-game. why not a section for a developer notifications inbox? Patch notes could be delivered to it. No platform is bigger for Destiny players than the actual game itself.

Eververse (The in-game store, where currency called silver, which you can buy with real money is spent) is just another game developer's tool to sell its users additional content. It has with it a user-based perception of pay-to-win. I say that because this will differ from person to person, if something is resulting in a PvP advantage but you don't play PvP you might not look at this as a pay-to-win element. However, my biggest dislike isn't pay-2-win elements, because very often it's community feedback that ends up balancing that out, My biggest problem is when the content in the game is diminished or stripped back to better push towards the in-game store. I don't feel the urge to grind out the armour when I've got sets i much prefer that just look so much better. I also think Deepsight Harmonizer shouldn't be a season pass thing, maybe a reward for weekly rituals? just it feels past that pay-to-win line in my opinion as someone who sees the benefit of crafted weapons.

Other things stand out, but meh, these have changed and developed over the years so often, been repeated by others, that honestly, i can't expect to be the same in a week's time, or a month's time. That's the joys of a live-action game, things can develop and sometimes quickly. A fixed game can die very quickly, with no way to pull itself back. A live-action game, well a community can guide that and even save it. At this point, i trust Bungie enough still to listen and appreciate its community. Some that could be broken, it's a matter for that to be earned back, and if not, then a lesson learnt from.

I love this game so much, it's been an escape and an adventure. The people I've met through it alone are priceless to me. I've been inspired by creativity I've never even touched on before. I've been challenged and overcome challenges, been gripped by stories and created my own theories of events to come or those not yet even been formed. I'd 100% recommend this game, Just expect your road to be different to everyone else's, and maybe cross some others along the way.

Thank You for reading.
