A truly fantastic game for procrastinating and ignoring all of your responsibilities. There are so many ways you can play this game; the amount of fun to be had is endless. Are there problems with the base game? Sure. Can you fix these with Mods? Yes. Is that a bit annoying? Sure. Are the de-sync issues annoying in Multiplayer? Yes. Despite these, is it a great game? Yes. Its in my opinion, one of the best turn based strategy games out there, for a few reasons. Its fun for new AND for experienced players alike. The replay-ability is endless, and there is so much you can learn and refine, AND you can still have a massive amount of fun, without needing to micro manage every turn.

The game has its issues, namely late game can feel a bit tedious (Mostly when playing with AI. On multiplayer, its less so, especially with friends), Movement with many units can be a bit frustrating, But these aren't super big problems in my eyes.

Early Access Review
Would I recommend it? No. Not YET.
Aspects of it make for a really great game. With good ideas, extremely beautiful landscapes/detail, and with good music (albeit a little repetitive).
The game is just too far away from being finished for me to describe it as "a good game". Do I enjoy playing it? Yes. Does that enjoyment last very long? No. Simply because you reach all you can do very quickly. Having 3 tiers of burgage plots doesn't make for the game to be super exciting. It would be good if there were types of buildings you could only unlock once you've reached "Large settlement" and so on, so forth. Right now, you can essentially build everything straight away, and then the aim is to just "survive raids" or "claim land" and defend.

I hope they start finishing certain aspects of the game, instead of changing their mind (like we've seen through the town perk system). The game will be very fun once its complete, if its ever complete - but the AI (which is still a work in progress, and has improved since the last release) is still really crap. I mean, really crap. I know this is a semi-recent addition to the game, and this very much still early access... but... come on... The map type where the AI builds its own settlement/s, is just unplayable because its just not smart enough. It buils 20 burgage plots with tiny back gardens, and then chooses to grow quince????? Or 3 of them become breweries, but they have no source of malt/barley?? Still, I am having a lot of fun playing it whenever there is a new beta release, its just that fun fades quite quickly because theres not really very far to go.
