I've followed this game since 2013 and a lot of changes have been brought to it since. I still fully reccomend it, especially to those who like Terraria.

I don't know if it's fluke, but I bought this recently and the multiplayer works...and is actually pretty decent.

8/10.

To preface, I would have given a negative review in response to the microtransactions and preorder/season pass content, but those two things don't really affect the experience at all.

This game is solid. This game is a pure sequel to Human Revolution and perfects nearly every aspect of it's predecessor. The cover system, in my honest but seemingly unpopular opinion, has been improved, save for the bug that occurs when you save a game while in cover. The hacking minigame is harder and now forces you to find other ways to overcome a situation if your hacking skills aren't up to par. Your aug upgrades have more meaning to them, and will specialize you for different situations. Combat and AI is better and more viable for those who want to go in guns-blazing.

In terms of story, this game has a better one than HR, EXCEPT for the ending. The experience leading up to the ending will definitely differientate from player to player, I've taken about 27 hours, though some have taken 12 and others 40+. I would suggest taking your time. The exploration has improved, and the world-building emails and ebooks that defined HR are all there.

Side quests are the real meat here. Much more than there was in HR, and also more interesting. If you don't do them, or do a minimal amount of them, I guarantee you will leave the game very dissappointed.

The soundtrack is top-notch. More stellar work by Michael McCann and newcomer to the series, Sonic Mayhem(Sascha Dikiciyan).

Of course, the game has problems. Some of the non-hub levels feel short and rushed if you don't explore them, and the main story, while pretty good at the start, really drops in the final hours. I was able to overlook these issues, though.

If you loved HR, you will love this. If you are reading this and have not played HR, it's worth picking up before this. It's rather cheap on sale and will give you a good taste of what to expect here.

This game was utterly boring, which was the exact opposite reaction I was expecting considering the series' track record.

Just Cause 2 was one of the first games I had on steam, and it was a joy to play. I definitely recommend that game over this. It felt like a poorly written action movie with an emphasis on action, and it was awesome. This was complemented by the soundtrack, mechanics, explosions, absurd characters and setpieces. Just Cause 3, on the other hand, lost some of that. The soundtrack was underwhelming, and the story managed to be even worse than the previous installment. It also felt too easy. The way the chaos objects were grouped into small areas instead of being sprawled over the entire map also was a negative for me.

Not to mention the optimization is absolute ♥♥♥♥.
