The game starts kinda in media res, I guess... But it's stupid.

Some guy is barking orders and is a real jerk. You, Abbi, 'think' (I dunno, a paper note shows up on the screen...) that you don't know why you're there. You don't push back or ask anything about what's going on.

It's poor writing from the jump.

Interesting idea, but too cute by half. There's no tension because of it.

I hadn't played that long. Nearly a dozen women had come in asking for books by women.

No man asked for a book by a man.

And Tilde... obnoxious.

This is not a game. It's a bad movie written by a particularly juvenile mental 12 year old boy.

I'll finish it since I paid for it, but this is garbage and does not deserve the hype. There is no agency. You aren't playing anything. Your decisions have no impact on where the story goes.

This is a fraud.

Episode 6 now. It's starting to get so bad that it's funny. The invisible chick is rarely invsible. What does and does not become invisible with her is potluck. The game has NO IDEA what you have or have not done.

I swear a small child would write better than this.

Finished. And, let me correct myself. A small child would not have written this. Because a small child is smarter and has a better imagination than this.

This is, by far, the single most overrated piece of garbage on Steam. I cannot imagine being so creatively bankrupt that I would think a slapdash collection of stolen ideas and racist tropes would make for a good movie. And yes, this is a movie. An awful movie, which is why the braintrust that put it together couldn't get it greenlit and had to resort to a 'game' with zero agency.

This is so offensively bad that it is an affront to gaming and story telling.

The voice acting is excellent, though.

Too linear. Basically an idle game that doesn't become full idle.

Barely a tech demo. To say this is undercooked is an extreme understatement.

It's certainly not the worst release, but about 80% of the game is just not ready. Tool tips are wrong or broken. Most of the countries in the world, religions, cultures, are just place holders. Ally AI is unbelievably bad, and enemy AI is no better. I would suggest most people hold off until there's a sale with a few DLCs bundled, because this ain't it.

Quite a lot of bugs, typos, and simple differences between the text and the spoken dialog. The underlying idea of the story and the overlaying of different myths on top of one another is very interesting, but the last chapter is pretty bad. A lot of the puzzles are nonsensical, and you spend ages knowing what to do before the game allows you to do it.

You know who the culprit is very early, you know what the underlying mystery is, too. You just can't do anything about it. Several times the game will 'reveal' to you something that was already revealed.

The first, demo-like, puzzle is terrible, but then after that the world building is worth following along. Really, only the middle 1/3rd or so is needed.

You'd be better off waiting until the lore is in a wiki and just reading that.

The game was fun... and then they 'patched' it.

Now it's just an exercise in futility.

My theory: 38 year old high school Marxist never finishes any of their tasks. Coworkers are fed up listening to their anti-capitalist rants between bragging about their sneaker collection. End up getting canned because his team would be more efficient without him.

Then he made this game, or about half of it. And now it's on Steam.

I could be wrong. It could be a woman.
