Now you must keep in mind, that this is Early Access so my quick review may change when the full game is release.

This game is very fun and has many features that are promising as it stands. The game mechanics run smoothly and everything plays/controls well, it feels good to play with a constant frame rate of around 60fps (this will vary on your system).

The game has a beautiful graphical look which I feel really captures the struggle and tension of the game, especially at night. The thick foliage makes it a tense and ambitious decision to head in-land for greater resources. Now as it's early access there are not many resources to get manly wood, stone and meat. This means that there isn't much that makes you want to venture into the dense forest, which is a shame as it creates some of the best gameplay moments. Nothing beats the feeling of going in-land to hunt and finding yourself lying on the floor still while a Carno walks by.

The game holds a crafting system which nice and has that Minecraft feel when no recipes are known and you have to find them out yourself. This will make the expreienced players an asset to your tribe. There aren't many items that can be crafted at this point, a few basic weapons, tepee, fireplace, torch, etc but I wouldn't be surprised if that number increased on release. BE WARNED though, if you want to craft say the Bolas (thrown weapon) that only costs 2 wood and 2 stone but you have a box with 10 wood and 10 stone it WILL use ALL of it. So spread your resources out and only use what you need.

The Dinosaurs are obviously the main attraction to the game and rightfully so, they are also your main threat as they will creep up on you better than other players. Usually resulting in your death. HOWEVER, keep in mind that there are only 4 species of Dino in the game right now. 2 small and 2 large. you will come across the small dinos the most and one of them will kill you the most too, they spawn everywhere. The 2 larger dinos spawn more in-land and are very hard to fight (best just observe them). The models and movement of the dinos are amazing and really give that extra boost to the asthetics of living on this island. I will never forget the first time I saw the Carno. The dinos also have real life AI which means they will fight and hunt each other, this is deffinitely one of the more spectacular moments you will see. Now you have all seen that the Dinos are also ridable this is true ALL 4 of the current dinos can be ridden but you must first tame them. (I have a video coming out that shows this)

Now I have said a lot of good things on this game but now I must address the bad things, there aren't many. First thing is the experience that you gain while playing allows you to access new recipes and ride larger dinos. This experience is gained with pretty much anything you do, however when you die you lose all of it. (DayZ Style) Now I'm not a fan of that as some dino's like the carno require somehting like 100 exp and that take around 30 mins to acquire at best. (This is my personal opinion on this) I don't think ypu should lose ALL the exp but maybe half? I think that is fair. However that is not the biggest problem I have with the current build of this game.

The BIGGEST thing I have a problem with is that as soon as you leave a server your character is wiped, gone, dead, non-exsistant. Which means every single time you want to play you start from the very beggining, this means building your spawn again (tepee) weapons, ect. I really hope this is just in this build and wont be in full version because it makes the game feel like a HUGE waste of time, and makes the player not care about surviving because as soon as you leave the game it's as if you never played it. Please if people read this let's make that known we dont want this problem, and that's what it is a problem. People who play the game want to feel like they get somewhere but if when they leave it was for nothing then why will people play in the first place. PLEASE keep this in mind if you are going to buy this early access version!

Conclusion - A game that has so much going for it and huge potential, but has the biggest downfall, making people waste their time. I will keep an eye on this game and hopefully this game will turn into the master peice it deserves to be.
