An amazing staple in gaming, absolutely breathtaking experience playing this and the very fact that the devs are still updating this game till this day is astounding. I recommend this game to anyone that enjoys flying their own personal spaceship, exploration and crafting.

Gek!

I am writing this review as having refunded it earlier today.

I'll make this very short for you, this game is a terrible PC port. In terms of FPS and crashing, I wholeheartedly cannot recommend this title at the time of reviewing this.

Do I love the atmosphere, graphics, story, and gameplay, YES MOST DEFINITELY I DO!
I personally had amazing memories with this very game on the PS4, yet I wasn't prepared for an underwhelming port on PC that never got updated and patched as a bare minimum after all these years with at the very least:
1. No texture pop ins
2. Detailed graphics settings
3. No random crashes losing my progress
4. 60fps patch

I realise the team at Criterion, or Ghost, were given less than a year to make this, but EA should've fixed this title afterwards, this was one of the last good NFS games, alongside Hot Pursuit which I am ABSOLUTELY LOVING MY TIME with the new Hot Pursuit Remastered, one of the best.

I did try to mod Rivals to "fix it", but the mods are absolute hot garbage and did not fix anything, actually made it worse.

I realise this review might be sounding a bit harsh but I would've really liked to enjoy this game.
Unfortunately, to conclude today's review, this is not a title I would recommend that is optimised well for a PC or even a console for that matter.

Martial Law is a wholesome "trying to survive" representation of the 1981-83 era of Poland made by FIXER using Godot.

In short, it's the story of a Polish man trying to make ends meet and provide for his daughter some presents for the coming Christmas.
I read in the reviews it reminded someone of the old NewGrounds games, gives the same web flash game vibe to me too.

4 Good Points:
1. There's about 5 options within the game that will change your progression as you go.
(These unlock achievements) - Refer to this guide if you're stuck: https://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2691144427
2. The pixel graphics are quite calming to look at.
3. The ambient background soundtrack used adds onto the wholesome vibe.
4. Trivia was a very good addition.

3 Improvement Points:
1. The story wraps up too quickly, without much clarification as to what happens next.
2. Use some different but similar "classical" music as to what is being played, not too different per say, (entering shops, different buildings, etc, etc.)
3. Take those points and keep on improving, it was a calming hour of gameplay, so thanks a lot for making this FIXER! :)

Instantly, Castle Crashers graphics come to mind. I mean WOW!
This is literally the 2nd game I've ever seen with that type of artstyle and it's pretty amazing to be honest, the music is spot on and dynamically changes once scrolling up and down, the art style is very colourful and picturesque, hell you can even spin the Sun and get an achievement for that!

It only takes 5 minutes as well and for the experience it's like I'm back in Year 6 playing those old web flash games with my mates from school on a school laptop.
Play it, it's short, fun, and with an artstyle you don't see very often. And if achievements are something you look for, this has got that too. Absolutely perfect for adding to your Perfect Games list and having a bigger variety of achievements to put on display.

A meticulously hand-drawn, hidden object, naturesque PnC game. And for free. Well, what am I doing here to tell you that? You go play it yourself, I mean it's got achievements for all my achievmaniacs out there (I saw a friend get 100+ achievements so I was like on the bandwagon then on), it's got a nice soothing soundtrack built-in, it LOOKS GOOD, and finally, those achievements are really easy to get, just click the frogs man.

But, if you're like me and you can't find the last damn frog for some reason because of the green, white, and black colours blinding your vision, look no further and use this guide some awesome dude made:

And final note, the dev has built something so simple, yet still so captivating, I mean even drawing something like that would take a lot of skill and time, I'd say support him and buy his other games too so you can help a man out.
Sometimes you just don't need ray-tracing at 4K all the time, sometimes all you need is something like this every once in a while.

The game's great, more of an experience actually in where you're experiencing the book itself in 3D.

Graphics were definitely modernised with the Unity game engine, narrative voice acting was spot on with the British accent, controls were limited but yet again it was more so based to be in a linear fashion as to go with the story. I haven't been too much of a big fan but lately I've seen Lovecraft definitely has made some very peculiar & interesting stories and having a game like this to simulate it was quite,"spectacular, maddening almost" lmao.

But do I recommend it?
Yes, I really do, it's 30-40min at max and since I got all of the achievements that maxed my game time at 1hr and with VR you might need more powerful hardware but as I don't own that I played this in standard mode which is just as good for most people.

For achievmaniacs, here's a guide some helpful person on Steam made detailing how to 100% this game.

AC IV? What's that?

Alright, so that was me back about 4 years ago when I played my first ever game on the PS4, AC IV Black Flag baby.
I'd sprained my foot putting me in crutches at the time and my sister's friend decided to lend me their PS4 for while I was recovering. I said hell yeah, put in the disc, and up up and away I went!

Doing so, this became a stapled event in my memory of playing my first ever actual video game and I loved it.

Honestly from experience of playing other games such as Fallout 4 and Skyrim on console and PC I can say AC IV Black Flag brought so much potential to the table that others did not not only with the reworked stealth system from previous installments but that feeling of actually having a ship to explore the Caribbean sea and to fight with assassin type parkour moves all whilst being a pirate.
Not that mentioning Fallout 4 and Skyrim would mean they are bad, they're awesome games in their part of post-apocalyptic and fantasy but this I reckon holds up with them pretty damn well.

The open world mechanics, awesome graphics that still hold up bloody good till this day, I'M LOOKING AT YOU WATER/OCEAN, the combat that utilises chain attacks and 1 hit assassinations and even just finding treasure and completing quests is enough for me to call it a day.
Newer titles of Assassin's Creed don't hold up as well as to how combat was in previous titles as there are supposed health bars from what I've heard and not those chain effect killings and 1 hit kill assassinations which were honestly the thing that made Assassin's Creed what it is. Aside from combat the newer titles seem pretty good but it's like removing the milk from my ice cream when it comes to combat. Multiplayer you might want to get friends to help with that but we're all here for the single player and it'll be an experience you'll definitely remember.

Now, I'm going to conclude this review and for readers seeing this you want to know whether you should get this or not.

I'd say wait for a good sale, grab it and enjoy. PC also has better graphics so shhhh, console wasn't as good lmao.

A lighthearted short adventure consisting of you as the player Gordon jumping to collect coins and trying to avoid falling on spikes and hitting head on with rats. Personally it reminded me of the old web flash games I used to play back in year 6 and the 1 achievement was an added bonus for my Perfect Games list in Steam.

Anybody who's got a little bit of spare time to give, play this game. It's short, casual, and a fun plat-former that will take you at most 20 minutes like it did for me.

A chilling dark and gory atmosphere captured in the course of 30 minutes with a story that did actually take a turn and make me a little bit emotional at the end.

Honestly for a PnC game like this I liked it very much as not only the graphics and sound were awesome but the actual story captured the true meaning of a dark and revengeful plot for a game of this stature.

I recommend for anybody reading this that you go and play the game, it's not going to take much of your time and it's basically a little dark atmospheric short story captured in a video game for everybody to play for free!

I always seemed to ignore this game back when it was originally an exclusive to the Origin client on PC but I decided to actually install when it came on Steam a couple days back, and ukw, this is ONE OF THE BEST BATTLE-ROYALE SHOOTERS I HAVE PLAYED!

Why? Why isn't Fortnite or some other crap like Creative Destruction better?

Well, it's simple, Apex's gun-play is smooth, it's first person, the combat and character animations are well made, this game actually won over 50 awards, and, you can actually pick the Legend you want to play rather than being randomized like in Fortnite.

My man, it's Apex Legends! I don't know what more to say other than it is the best in my opinion and experience when it comes to pure non-story battle-royale shooters.
Just try it out, I'd best recommend getting some friends up to play it with you because it can get a bit annoying when nobody in the team is chatting and letting you know if they found loot or something.

But overalI, I give this game a 9/10. 😁👍
