On a serious note, really good game. Love the gameplay loop. There are always going to be flaws with games like these, but this game is running so much better than this time a year ago. Life's good.

Alright, so after nearly 400 hours into this game, (Along with more to come, I think), I'd say it's about time I make a review for this game. This review will be in a pro-con criteria for this game, since there's many of these to speak of. Then I'll give my opinion (Unless you don't want to read this, and instead just wanna see that cute little thumbs up button. That's fine too. Please note, that this is under the criteria of Mortal Empires. I feel as if that is the proper way to play the game, unless you want a less demanding game-style. Not dissing those who like to play Vortex, it's just that I love the increased faction diversity in Mortal Empires

So, without further interruptions, let's get this started!

Pros: A really fun turn based strategy, with real time battles. I can't complain
All the factions are very diverse, to say the least. Although the factions are not all viable.
Good Graphics! And really good particle effects
Unit balancing, for the most part, is pretty good. Some things are out of tune though, but that will be
discussed in the cons section
On the campaign map, you always have a clear purpose with most factions. If you're meant to pillage
and raid, you'll be rewarded for such. If you're meant to confederate with other factions, that's fine
too!
Battles are, for the most part, fun and engaging. That will also be discussed in the Con section later.
Races feel like how they should in battles, "Greenskins" Are absolute savages, while the humans feel
like humans, fighting for their lives against an unending tide of enemies, with abilities to guide their
way.
All units have their purpose (Except for the Bloated corpses, screw those guys). Even the weakest of
Bat units have a purpose to disorganize the ranged enemies.
The campaign map actually feels "alive" In a sense, random events happening that will dictate
sometimes the direction you take the campaign. For example, getting a random event that will
increase your defense for X turns give you the ability to completely rush down and annihilate your
enemies.
Any DLC you have for the first game, don't feel like you wasted your money. You get all of those DLCs
in the second game! all except for the blood and gore pack.
There's many more pros I can get into, but now it's time for the Cons.

Cons: Not all factions are made the same. I said that that was a good things, but a majority of the times, the
'dwarves' will become the absolute strongest faction on the map, unless dealt with early.
Sometimes the battles seem unresponsive with how cluttered the battlefield gets. With that being
said, it does make sense for some units to get completely overwhelmed.
Difficulty in the game should not deter you from feeling good/bad about how you play the game. The
difficulty options are completely unfair once you get to Very Hard battle settings, so if you can't go to
that point or beyond, it's completely fine! But play on Legendary at your own risk. You might lose
brain cells due to how bad it gets sometimes.
The factions that haven't really been touched since WH 1 are the Chaos faction and the Beastmen
faction. So playing as them feels very underwhelming when compared to the factions that you can
play as currently. A top-tier Chaos army can be killed with moderate-strength Empire army. To be fair,
the opposite can happen too, but it's much more difficult with the lack of options that Chaos currently
gets. And I would highly recommend not playing as the Beastmen until they get a very large
overhaul to their faction. The units are fine, they just need more options, and an overhauled
campaign gameplay.
But if you're new to the game, you won't have to worry about that. The Chaos faction and Beastmen
factions are both payed DLCs for the game.
Most armies in the base-game usually just come down to "doom stacks", which are really powerful
spams of a single/few units. Either that, or they're buffed up to high hell through Lord Skills and Hero
Skills.
Lastly, for the full experience. you'll need the first game. That will give you access to the Old world
races (Mortal empires).

So, if you want to play this game, just keep all of these things in mind. Through it all though, I still love this game. I feel like it's a must-buy for those who love Warhammer AOS or real-time/turn based strategy games. If you want to just buy this game, you'll have access to these factions:

High Elves
Dark Elves
Lizard Men
Empire
Bertonia
Tomb Kings (DLC)
Greenskins (Grom the Paunch) (DLC)
Skaven
Vampire Coast (DLC)

Mortal empires:
High Elves
Dark Elves
Lizard Men
Empire
Bertonia
Tomb Kings (DLC)
Greenskins
Skaven
Vampire Coast (DLC)
Vampire Counts
Wood Elves
Chaos
Beastmen

So my verdict? Yes, if you do enjoy games like this or if you like Warhammer, be more than free to pick up this really good game. If you hate balance, this will be your game too. If you want balance, you can do that as well. Depending on the faction/race you choose though, will have widely varying results on how much fun you have though.

And my favorite factions I play is Chaos, Greenskins, vampire counts, and Lizardmen, so take my review from that perspective. I've played as all the races though, so I have a relative understanding on how they all work. Take that as you will though. And one final thing before I end this off...

Buff Giants please.
