The return of some of the best mechanics and features all polished up and tweaked to work together- it’s like playing Dragon Quest’s Greatest Hits except a lot of it is still brand new and built with love and care. This mixture of new and old, coming together to create a wonderful beginning that honors decades of work done by all kinds of people is a landmark. Dragon Quest XI being this combination of peaceful conclusion and powerful new starting point doesn’t just make it an entry in Dragon Quest- it is Dragon Quest! It is everything this series stands for, it’s my new favorite Dragon Quest! If you’re going to play one play this one!
