Occasionally fun and engaging but ultimately limiting, restrictive, frustrating and feeling more Pay2Win the longer I play.

The vehicles can be janky but are usually quite fun to use, the gun play is pretty good, the game looks good, the interface is somewhat convoluted but it works, the match making is not the best nor is the balance. But not to a game breaking degree, you will now and again have a competitive and really rewarding game.

Unfortunately it is rarely rewarding in any way to help you actually progress and get new things, I have just finished a 47 minute war, really close and gruelling, I finished in the top 6 but was trending top 3 for much of the game, came out of it feeling good until I seen the post match summary of my rewards vs Ammo refill + Repairs and I had lost 4,131 credits in total.

Yeah, I spent 47 minutes playing really well, making a genuine difference for my team to win a razor thin war match, earning over 15k credits, a nice boost I thought. And then I lose over 19k credits, a loss of 4,131, because I used too much ammunition or had too many repairs to my vehicles (as I was supplying APC's to my team and transport)

So I ask, what is the point?

You will start any class you choose with a single weapon, no choice, no grenades, nothing. Infantry is the only way to guarantee quick matching or you can wait 15+ minutes for a game sometimes, and all infantry start with a semi-automatic rifle, which is so limited in it's use, terrible for close combat and much of the combat is close and in automatic-dominating territory.

You need to earn ribbons to unlock items and then credits to purchase them, or Gold, the premium currency of course. But as the game drips new upgrades and items on you, the upkeep increases, using them costs you more and more credits, it is so restricting. And you cannot share anything between classes, even under the same nation, each class is fully independent but uses the same pool of credits you have.

Everything costs a lot, the cheapest automatic you can get is absolutely abysmal and weak, I didn't even bother, it isn't worth the 50,000 credits, but I need near or beyond 200,000 credits for a half decent automatic weapon, from matches where you can actually LOSE credits. I find myself searching the battlefield to pick up dropped weapons all of the time.

Or you buy them with real money, that's what they want. Any event or special offer is on Gold, the premium currency, it's never a sale for credits, because that would be helping those who aren't throwing money at the game. It is heavily trending towards pay2win if you want to actually have nice things and variety of weapons or play competitively being able to adapt to different scenarios.

It is the most restrictive and limiting game I have ever played, and is feeling more and more pay2win just from how hard it is to gain credits and how everything is steered towards SPEND MONEY if you want to actually get anywhere, you can't "earn" credits, you grind them, but if you shoot too many times the game will take them back off you.

To unlock the variety of weapons you can choose from in most war games by DEFAULT, if you wanted some choice in H&G, it will cost you thousands, or more time than you have left.

I cannot honestly recommend this game to anyone unless you have deep pockets, and I still play this game, how long for I really do not know as I am reaching for it less and less.

Hardcore realistic modern shooter, realistic weapons and attachments, sounds and looks great, rewards tactical gameplay.

Should really be more popular than it is to be honest. The CO-OP and general Multiplayer offer some great times with high replayability.

Aside from some balance issues, which could be resolved since the time of writing this, the game is really fun and worth grabbing it in a Steam sale.
