Early Access Review
Railroads online has the bones or what could be a fun game, previously it had a wonderful team of volunteers making ocntent of the game, but the sole programmer on the project had decided he didn't want any further help with the game

but it is extremely clunky, has a poor ui, driving controls are finicky, cars popcorn all over the place, and if you have too many cars your game gives you a slideshow experience, to the point certain cargos won't even load.

As it sits the game is not worth your 40 bucks (go buy derail valley instead, derail valley and it's mods are a great value), at least not yet.

Progress on the game is slow, the game is in the middle of a total physics rewrite but in the three or four months since it's been announced and demo'd has come to the beta with about 30 minutes of unreal tutorials to get a locomotive shaped thing to follow a path with no physics what so ever, in four months.

Also many many features promised previously have been gutted and rebuked (though an entire team of precious volunteer working for free devs left the game due to issues with the sole programmer)

And last, I strongly don't suggest this game right now, because its a little challenging (I love a challenge), but if you reach out to the official discord,it is poorly managed, the staff and many members are extremely toxic and harp on new users for asking simple questions, and outright lie to it's members about why the previous team left, bash their work, and the like

So save your forty bucks till this game is a little more stable, but right now I can't stand behind it and recommend it (and I promise to update this review if the game ever turns around)

And as a side about the developer, during the development of their last game "American railroads" purchaser were told the upgrade to unreal for railroads online would be a "free" update, nope, we got a few bucks off

Thanks
JEFF
