Game is good.

Game looks like it could have been good someday, but has kneecapped itself with a few bad decisions.

-The failed kickstarter had a VIP status you could buy. It gives access to hidden discord dev channels, special elevated customer service & for other subtle ways to make your game experience more smooth.

-They plan to keep this VIP player system when the game is 1.0 released. Do you think steam/new players are going to be ok knowing that they are officially lower tier than these people?

-Recently this came to a head when someone brought to light that high level dragons were being farmed by a VIP group on a live server, seemingly with direct dev assistance. At first the community manager told them that it was normal & expected for VIP players to get such treatment. Then when it started going viral, the community manager changed tone & threatened to ban the player for bringing this up. In the end, the devs contradicted themselves multiple times but somehow found they did nothing wrong.

-The game development is unfocused. Item stacking doesn't work, but they are working on a PVP server?

-Related to the last point, there is no road map. No gradual milestones they are aiming for. Where are they trying to be by end of the quarter? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

-The patches are infrequent & are "two steps forward, one step back". Latest example: They updated the engine. The water looks nicer, but it broke a bunch of stuff that was working before.

-Group only mobs. Bad idea. The chevron system needs to be fired into the sun. Head first.


At the end of the day, this is just a video game & if it doesn't bring you joy, then move onto something that does, there are plenty of things in life that do.
It was a fun nostalgic diversion for a bit. & a few of the devs are genuinely passionate about the project, but this VIP player system is some amateur hour private server tier hogwash that should have been completely done away with the moment the kickstarter failed. It will only continue to cause problems.

Keyboard/mouse controls and UI are really bad

Some examples:
Left CTRL + Left Mouse = Blink Strike
Left CTRL + Right Mouse = Skyward Lash
Left CTRL + E = Hindsight Slash

Left ALT + Left Mouse = Shield Strike
Left ALT + Right Mouse = Cymbal Attack
Left ALT + E = Shield Summons

i.e. Want to rebind "Blink Strike" to letter "R"?
Too bad. All those attacks require a modifier key + mouse input

Want to press "M" to view the map?
Nope, its buried in the ESC menu
