I always felt like I was good at racing games like Need for Speed and Forza, so I figured I would try an actual simulator with a wheel.

Then I found out I was bad, and took 30 hours to get good again.

And then I checked the reference times and discovered I am, in fact, still bad. Hopefully this cycle keeps repeating because it's actually so satisfying.

UPDATE: after Sony's decision to allow PC players to skip linking a PSN account, this game has my full and unwaivering support. Buy it now, before the communist automatons have a chance to sabotage the efforts of democracy.

It's a little buggy. Sometimes you DC for no reason. Sometimes you can't join a game. Sometimes it randomly crashes.

and I do not care. It is still the most fun I've had in a video game in years. The core gameplay and feel of the game (graphics, sound, worldbuilding) are enough to keep me playing for the forseeable future even if the dev's don't add a single ounce of content.

New updates have simplified armor progression, added cool new stories and areas, and introduced new gametypes. The new element and class are interesting as well. There are now more activities that are worth doing besides just the endgame raid (such as when Callus was first released).

However the combat and enemies are still much the same, and the game still lacks activities outside of grinding for better gear. Also, the removal of the entire original storyline from the game is a shame, as it's no longer even an option to play them. The result is that the new beginner's storyline is abrupt and choppy, and makes little narrative sense. It provides no context, assuming you already know everything that happened.
