Just a bunch of random BS. I love it. Also glory to the Source Engine.

Honestly, I kinda prefer outlast 1. I think the whole psychological horror element, really takes away from what I love about this franchise. Besides that though, it still is a really solid horror game, and has some good scenes and mechanics I enjoy. As always (for a Red Barrels game), you can expect lines to be crossed, and to be shocked.

2 years later, and the game is still lacking a large amount of content; as well as killing the majority of the community servers. Valve doesnt care, why would they. All this game is now, is a virtual shopping mall like the majority of modern releases. Why care about adding new content, when you can just keep adding more skins for the gambling addicts to feed their addiction. The maps that do get released, are community made maps; and I think overall, all of this was done on purpose. Why would Valve spend the time and money making new content, when they can restrict what the community makes, so said community has no choice but to make basic comp maps.

This game is catering to E-sport crowds, and gambling addicts. Dont get me wrong, they can do what they want, and have their fun; but the fact of the matter is, Valve killed the community this game had that was focused around having fun, and not always having to be a sweat. Gaming has lost the plot.

Paid items that give you an advantage (resource generators, weapons, timed unlimited storage, allies, etc).
Predatory business practices.
Lack of consequences for actions.

This game is better than it was when it came out, but Bethesda needs to stop being so damn greedy and catering to the whales. Like you would probably find people are more whiling to spend money on your game, when the prices are reasonable, and your business practices are not predatory. The current atom shop and FO1st system feels like Bethesda is spitting right in your face; and if they wont change it, they can at least make the game free to play.

If you like games with rich and deep atmospheres, then you'll love this game. Im constantly finding myself stopping to just take in the bleak beauty of the Chernobyl exclusion Zone. As for combat, every gun fight feels cinematic and tense. I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty, just to make the game more immersive and unforgiving.

If you are someone who's unaffected by modern media brain rot, you'll love this game. It's hardcore relative to your normal FPS, is historically accurate, and enforces team play. The devs clearly know where they're going with the game, and set rules for themselves; which most modern games don't do.
---
If you are someone who
-Loves to run and gun
-wants bright & flashy anime skins
-loves to cry and whine
-refuses to play a game they're not instantly good at

Then this game is not for you.

Again, shout out to the Dev team for making an actual good shooter in a ocean of generic Fortnite & overwatch imitators.

As someone who's been a life long fan of the horror genre, I've been desensitized to most horror media including games. For the most part I endugle in it for the entertainment value as I know it most likely won't scare me.

Starting up the game I decided to set the difficulty to hard (because what's the point of survival horror if it's forgiving) and I can safety say this game is terrifying. It made me feel afraid again; a game hasn't done that since I was a kid. I can also say as someone who's hid from people in abandoned buildings irl (on more than one occasion lol), it gives a very similar adrenaline high if your into that sort of thing lol.

Why do I need to install the Rock star launcher, and log into it for a single player game from 2012...
