I'm not a soccer fan. I don't watch soccer, never played it, I don't even like sports.
As a strategy game fan, this is enjoyable on almost every level. You have thousands upon thousands of decisions to make, you can change your team however you want, and it's basically just making your own story.
Football manager allows you to play the game no matter what your skill level is at strategy games, with options to make the game more or less involved by having other people take an aspect of the game and do it for you.
If you really enjoy learning things and studying information, absolutely get this game, even if you don't have an interest in football. Those who love strategy games and simulators will really enjoy this.

This is the game for people who enjoy other games like Distant Worlds Universe, and the War in the: series. You get a lot of data, a lot of minute details you can change, and so many ways to change the difficulty or situation to your preference so you can avoid doing the same strategy over and over. Want a Mad Max wasteland? Make an empire on Mustifar or Hoth, or just roleplay any other scenario you want? ABSOLUTELY! While I've found Civilization to grow stagnant in my own opinion, this game scratches my brain in just the right way. If you like crippling Wargames, but haven't enjoyed 4x games very much, THIS is the game for you.

This game is so much fun especially the fact that you have to work with others, instead of a mindless charge like cod or battlefield.

I love this game. I got this less than a week ago and I already have 90 hours into it, however, I think there are a few misconseptions about it though that I would like to correct. The biggest one that I noticed being that this game is for the *hardcore* military enthusiasts; those who know a lot about aircraft specs, military tactics, and most importantly, the lingo. A few of the positive reviews say that it's not for people who enjoy dabbling in Arma 3, which I disagree with completely. You do NOT need to know military equipment, nor do you need to know anything about history and warfare. What you do need is a passion for interpreting information, carefully laying out plans, and then watching them unfold, which I think is the best part.

It took me 5 hours to do the first tutorial and fail it, another 5 hours to do it and succeed, and before I could even do any of that, came the 7 hours it took me to understand just what the ♥♥♥♥ I was actually looking at, 3 hours to learn how to do anything, and 4 hours to figure out what the different aircraft do and what things were. Before I started playing I had no clue what Attack aircraft are, "If they're called attack, why aren't they attack other planes?" or why my bombers seemed to suck at their job because the target was still standing after a bombing run, fooled by games like War Thunder that make it seem increadibly easy.

This game is not flashy. It's not Men of War, or World of Warships, or anything like that, and you won't be in the trenches with your men watching them exchange fire; it's a database of information that you can use to play imaginary army men, and it's the most fun I've ever had, with such a passionate, and patient community who don't mind the fact that I'm asking another question about what things do in the steam discussions page.

The joys of this game are simple. You conduct military operations with aircraft and naval vessels, setting up missions and parameters, before you watch the blips on your screen do just that. For those who want realism, you can watch in real time, for those who want to play around for a few minutes, it goes up to 300x time compression. I find myself holding my breath, waiting for missiles or battleship salvos to land, and biting my lip when I take return fire. My heart stops when the tail member of my Wing catches a missile and crashes into the side of a mountain, his sacrifice carving the way for the strike team to drop their payloads on target.

For people who want to set up a battle of World of Warships, just for the hell of it, you can do that too with the scenario editor, and anything that you want to share can easily be published for other people to play on the workshop.

The biggest problem people have with this game is the price of entry, and I do agree that it is steep, so looking around for better deals or waiting for a sale is the best option, but do not let the price disuade you from getting it entirely, there are ways of finding better prices. If you would like to try the game, starting with the standalone DLC, Command: Chains of War may be a better option, for $20 you get the engine and access to its campaign, but everything else being unaccessable without the base game. If you're on the fence because of the price, start with Chains of War.

This game is not for those seeking tense, first person combat, but for those who enjoy thinking about a problem and figuring out a way to overcome it to complete your orders. If you also want to learn about aircraft and history, and enjoy studying, this is for you as well. I can't recommend this game enough, and never put so much time into something in such a high frequency.

With the release of this game, I'm finally able to recommend it to other players. Personally, I hate Wargaming products, so much so that I was pushing my grievences with those games, onto this one in my first review, which I apologize for.

Some people are saying that "this game is World of Tanks with helicopters", which I disagree with. Everything that World of Tanks has done wrong, Heliborne has done right. Firstly, the gameplay. This game is both PvP and PvE, with both features being fleshed out and not feeling like an afterthought, tacked on in order to pull in a specific crowd. In PvP games, it feels like a tug of war as you fight for control of bases, pushing your units across the map to claim victory, and this is the first thing the game gets right: The three classes you play as, recon, attack, and transport, actually work together in a balanced way, with some helicopters being hybrids of two of them, allowing an interesting playstyle.

Attack helicopters have the most firepower and health, good at attacking other copters and things on the ground, however you'll be unable to see many targets that are in the trees, seemingly taking fire from knowhere; this is where the recon class comes in, able to fly fast, spot targets, and use the mortar crews setup by the final class, the transport. If you enjoy logi trucking in foxhole, this is your class; it's the job of these slow gunships to capture bases by putting boots on the ground. If you see one, it's best to help out by flying escort or clear defenses so it can capture the base safely. All three of these classes belong in this game, and each play an important part to your team.

When you get into the game, you can select three vehicles to take into combat with you, and when you die, your vehicle is on a repair timer. This is the second thing the game does great. While your mistakes can be punished, you aren't out of the match, allowing you to try different strategies and take risks.

The controls in this game are great, and while they are arcadey, each chopper feels different, and you need to issue commands slightly early. Even though it may feel weird at first, it's never daunting, and after you slam into the ground a few times while trying to land, you'll get the hang of it.

The PvE mode has interesting content. You're able to play both alone and with other people, completing objectives around the map before the time runs out.

And perhapse most importantly, there's very little grind. You aren't going to be outmatched because of a helicopter's supperier stats, and you aren't going to need to force yourself through a horrible vehicle in order to get to something you actually want to play.

Heliborne is a fantastic game, and while its playerbase is small, the game is still very fun. Each class is interesting to play and caters to all playstyles: If you want to attack helicopters and defend your team as they take objectives, do it. If you like pushing resources across the map and aren't that interested in the fighting, that's okay too. No matter what you like to do, there's a way for you to help the team. If you are tired of World of Tanks and other arena shooters, give this game a try; even if you don't like PvP, the PvE game mode is actually well developed, and you won't be sacrificing progression by playing it.

This game does still need work, but there's a very passionate team behind this project and they not only deserve, but completely earn the support.

This game should not be in early access. Especially after Planets, this is a very complete game with a lot to do.

This game is a beautiful looking game, with fantastic sound effects and great emersion. That however is where the good points stop. Elite: Dangerous has marketed itself in a similar fashion to another -legendary- space sim game called Eve Online, and you can even find the similarities to them between ED's fourth trailer. The primary problem with this game is not that it's buggy or filled with trolls or anything, but the fact that it captures the vast emptiness of space far too perfectly. There's only a few tasks you can do, and all of them begin to feel grindy with not that good of a payoff.

The ship customization is fairly well done, with tons of components to purchase in order to get your ship to its full potential. Each type of weapon works differently from one another and each have their own strenghts and weaknesses. It's completely obvious that the developers of this game spent most of their time making combat as diverse as possible, but everything else falls flat in comparison. You can spend hours mining ores and scanning for different types of minerals and chunks of ore, even maneuvering your ship to catch them as they break off from the rock. Once you're full on ore you can search for which system buys them for the best price and make some money. The problem is that this process is absolutely tedious, and you can spend three hours harvisting only the most valuable ore and then spend another hour jumping in order to sell them with barely any profit to make it seem worth while.

Perhaps my biggest issue with this game is that there's very little threat at all. There's no sense of urgency or danger like the game makes you expect; hell, it's called Elite: DANGEROUS! Yes you can form a wing with you and your friends but there's absolutely nothing to do with them that makes the game any more fun or any less tedious then it already is.

If you're looking to sink a few hundred hours into a well crafted space sim, go ahead and buy Eve Online. They offer a 14 day free trial which you could easily put hundreds of hours in before you can remember what day it is.

I can't begin to explain how amazing this game is. Every match is unbelievably emotional. Investing everything you have into every skirmish, every battle, and every button click. Now, yes, things do get very intense, and hearing somebody screaming at you, telling you that you're horrible does ruin your day, but it gets better. There's nothing more enjoyable then hearing people praise you, or knowing that it was because of an action you did helped turn the tide of combat.

As I said before, this game is an investment. There are hundreds of heroes to choose from and each has there own purpose, and a lot of items to learn. If you're on the fence about this game, or just don't know where to start, I would look into Purgegamers on Youtube, who has excellent advice on how to get better, and streams on Twitch. Check out the International replays on Youtube as well, for they show some of the best players in the world, and even they make mistakes. If you do want to get better in the game, you need to keep playing. It's learning what you need to do in certain situations that helps you become better,

I definitely recommend this game for anybody who wants a challenging team based game.
