Good game

Amazing game. I feel like it nails everything for what it is. The story is great, the choices matter, the gameplay is fun and unique, the music is banging, and the art is beautiful. If the gameplay looks interesting to you, play this game.

Good 1v1 strategy game. Good one to do a single player run quickly or play with friends. Unsettling every time you point the gun at yourself. Have to look away every time

Tower Wizard is a nicely packaged game. It's an idle game only in that you don't actually do much other than upgrade or click. Actively playing the game, changing boost focus, and buying upgrades as they come available will noticeably increase your progression speed, and you'd probably finish it in half the time it took me. The game is short, but it has engaging checkpoints to strive toward until you're done. There's also a lot to optimize, and it doesn't amount to just big number better--more like which number do you want bigger at this moment? If you like idle/incremental games, this is a good one.

This game just made me miss Legends of Runeterra, which was a Magic clone that was actually a good video game. This is Magic in a bad video game. The UI is really bad. Probably the worst out of any CCG I've played. I could've forgiven it because the actual game of Magic is fun and translates to a real-world cord game, but it's also so stingy with new cards and being able to craft decks for constructed ladder, which is what I'm looking for in my CCGs. My play time does not account for all the time on mobile, you could probably double it, and it just was taking too long to be able to make decks for climbing. If you are into drafting decks, this game has a very robust mode for that. Having never played Magic on paper, I don't have the interest or knowledge to do that, and I'm not about to play this game to learn Magic.

Super cool concept. Fun when hella ♥♥♥♥ is happening at once. Cool realism elements like giving CPR instructions to people who call in. I just feel like the UI in general isn't great and pretty finicky. Once I felt the game getting harder, I knew it would be a pain to actually make it happen and continue to progress in a way that was unfun. Maybe worth a try if this is really up your ally (I'm a big fan of crisis management games), but I ended up returning it once I knew I wasn't gonna stick with it.

Really good poker-like CCG. I end up playing a lot while there's downtime between games. Good for when you less than 5 minutes to kill, but you can also spend hours grinding. The dopamine of winning an 8-snap is unmatched.

Very chill. Very much an idle game. Good for leaving running while doing other things, watching stuff, whatever. Not a crazy amount of depth or things to optimize, but pretty cool to just have a little dude fishing in the corner of your screen.

Update 9/17:
They've listened to the players and made big changes to the game and direction. The game now might be in the best state it's ever been. It's a ton of fun.


Original review (January 2025):
This game is a lot of fun when it's all put together. There's a lot here to like and a lot they're still ironing out. It's been a bit of whiplash this calendar year with all the changes, but it gives me hope that the final product will be something very special. The game is already so fun; the core game here is so clean. It's more the added systems that they continue to refine. Definitely will be playing and following along until its full release

Kinda ruined idle games for me since this one is so good.
