It's a great game, very unique. Definitely recommend (I used controller).
Probably worth getting the DLC before completing though - I didn't, but I don't feel much pull to carry on after the original ending, so even though I would have enjoyed more content, it feels wrapped up for me.

I still enjoy Helldivers 1 and Helldivers 2 captures the essence of it.
The madcap mayhem, the great sound and atmosphere, satisfying gunplay.
Switching to first-person ADS with a click is a master stroke.
Very highly recommend.

The only negative is the confusing requisition menu, but that's a niggle.

It's a great game that I really enjoyed (despite the griefers and cheaters) but now Rockstar have taken to banning players for no reason, as they don't seem able or willing to tackle the hacking.

So unfortunately I can no longer recommend the game.

Good fun as a diversion or a bit of a sweatfest, as it gets challenging in later stages too.
Great for kids as well.

The gameplay and visuals are great. The world-building captures that WH40K aged and semi-dilapidated gothic theme excellently, and the feel of the weapons as punchy and powerful is good fun. Wait till you get a bolter...

Can't really understand the hate the game is getting, hence writing this review.
Sure optimisation could be better (same with many games) but it seems people are complimenting the core gameplay, yet still leaving negative reviews due to not being able to play dress-up with cosmetics or the crafting being fairly lacklustre at the moment. Both things are likely to improve in time, but the actual game itself is awesome. Can't wait for more maps.

Bought for the kids, I play it more myself.
The first time I came home drunk and fired it up by myself I knew the shame should have stopped me, but I didn't care.
Not played much but it feels like a lot longer. Not a time sink, just fun for a 30 minute blast at a time.

Literally the best medieval fighting game around, a bit of a spiritual successor to Chivalry with far less exploiting of mechanics, and with a community committed to having fun and mischief it hasn't gotten old for me at all at over 200 hours and I'm still learning new japes and ways to play.
Cannot recommend it enough.

Old school arcade gameplay focusing on quick fingers and smart process.
For short intense games - as the name suggests, you have 10 seconds to complete each level and the faster the better.
Shaving milliseconds off your time can be addictive as it's not just about control and precision, but intelligent process awareness too.
Definitely recommend for cheap.

This game is fantastic.
As I write this Steam Charts tells me it's currently accounting for over a third of all current online Steam players.
Ignore the bs - yes a game should be polished where possible, but this game isn't - it's rough and ready and it's the most fun I've had playing a game in years. And you can play it for hours or else a half hour burst will net you 2 games and decent feeling of having played a good session.

I've gamed since wolf3d and duke nukem 1 and 2, and along the way I've played all kinds of games from AAA titles to cobbled together mods, right from the dawn of Half-Life and Counter Strike betas through to now. I can't say I've ever found a direct link between polish and enjoyment of playing the game, but I appreciate it takes all types.

PUBG may not be polished, and if you're the kind of person who can't watch a film unless it's got Hollywood budget polish at every scene, then maybe this game isn't for you.

If, on the other hand, you think you'd like an open world with a wide range of ways to play, and some of the most engaging hunter/hunted gamplay available, this is an absolute gem.

You'll be looting this open world, scavenging together guns and equipment, finding yourself sometimes bristling with weaponry, othertimes having to skulk around like a rat, changing playstyle to suit the occasion and what fortune provides (long range rifles? Better stick to the hills, be cautious approaching towns...SMG and shotgun? Better stick to the buildings, jack a jeep to get to the next once you need to move on).

The real thrill of the game though is in the clues, trying to see if someone has looted a spot already, or stalking a 3 man squad across the hills, biding your time to take your shot, dropping one, watching the other two spin round trying to work out where you are, taking out the second, the third taking cover but you know he has to come out to revive his downed teammate sooner or later...someone else heard the gunshots and wants to clean up the survivors, do you finish the third man and try to loot their kit? You've only got 7 rounds left for your boltaction rifle... Or do you melt away and write off the spent rounds but feel content you're still alive, maybe to survive to #1...?

Really can't do justice to this game, re-reading this review, but it's fantastic, with heart-pounding intensity at times after enjoyable lulls searching out equipment and planning your trek across the wildnerness (take a jeep and risk attracting attention? Will you outrun the blue on foot?)

And as for cooperative, it truly shines, that's what makes the game a true standout. All the above is so much better when conferring with your partner (or team mates) on how to divvy up loot, what approaches to take, and of course the inevitable 'I told you so' moments. This game has had me laughing out loud and us all in stitches over how seriousness can suddenly descend into farce...particularly when your buddy is screaming at you down the mic to pick him up and you're having to say sorry man the snipers got you zeroed in, I can't go out there (film Full Metal Jacket anyone?!?)

I strongly suspect a lot of those bashing the game are either more casual gamers (that's fine, we each have our preferences), perhaps a little less patient with bugs and polish (to be fair, I've barely seen many bugs, and no cheaters, did get TKed twice so far, but since did people write off CS for TKing?

Oh and I'm running a fairly aging rig, intel 2400 3.1ghz quad, nvidia gtx750 ti, 16gb ddr3 ram (I actually doubled my ram from 8gb to help playing this game), so I don't think it's overly intensive.

Anyway, I don't really write reviews, but I couldn't believe the bad reviews I saw about this game from moany little beaches who want all polish and no character. The kind of people that made the new Transformers films popular ;) Oh and I don't often buy games full price. The last was Battlefield 1 and that was a let down. PUBG worth every single penny.

TL;DR?
Buy the game, it's a hell of an experience.
