This game has came such a long way since its first year. We're in the process of celebrating the two year annivesary of the game actually. I've spent $20 on the game on one of the worst heroes but I've still had an absolute blast playing this game. I've been raving to a lot of my friends about how great newer heroes are as well as how far the game has came along.

If you go into this game expecting an in depth game, you may need to think about these next three criteria and if the game is really what you want.
1.) Have you ever played Diablo 2? If so then did you enjoy it?
2.) If you don't mind grinding the same areas pretty much non stop, then you'll enjoy the story and leveling of this game.
3.) Do you enjoy the Marvel universes characters?
If those three criteria are all acceptable to you then I can't recommend this game enough. I will warn any new player about the grind, your first 60 will be your absolute hardest to get. After that the grind gets pretty short due to passive xp bonuses for getting heroes to 60. There's also a very limited selection of BiS (Best-in-Slot) gear for the heroes, if you want to be geared out to the maximum potential then you will spend an absurd amount of time running the same terminals ( mini dungeons), hoping for items to drop to either use or possibly trade.

I've paid $60 for several games that I've played significantly less than this, as well as not enjoying as much as this. I usually just goof of with whatever hero or villain I'm feeling at the moment when I have nothing left to level. If you like the Marvel universe then I can only say that you should at least give the game a try, it's free so what could it hurt?

The end game content in this game is possibly the most fun you'll have at max level. You'll actually have a fairly real challenge as well as have to cooperate with other people in the instance to be successful. The raids are a little unforgiving in the terms of the people organizing them, you'll spend a significant amount of time just getting geared good enough to be invitied to one. Which I can understand the reasoning for since the raids are extremely difficult and usually undergeared players wipe leaving everyone else short handed.

If you enjoy the kill-fest that is the likes of Diablo II and Borderlands 1&2 then this game is up your alley. It has interesting classes to choose from, in depth skill trees, and is a challenge, which is rare this day and age.

I logged well over 100 hours into the first torchlight and will definitely do the same with this one. They refined and improved upon the original formula to make non-stop fun. Implemented new features that are gladly welcomed by me. I wholly enjoy the mod support that this game has, even though i haven't installed any yet.

The art style is such a welcome change from most newer games. The bright and solorful enviroments are fun and striking to explore. You won't be tired and bored of playing this game like so many other games here recently.

They added new pets ( mostly pack mules) to the mix which aren't as weak and useless as the previous installments. The new game plus feature is also a great addition so you don't have to retire a character to start over now. The loot variety seems to also be increased so you don't come across the same item as much.

Pros: Enemies, gear, gameplay, visuals, and enviroment.

Cons: Targeting system is sometimes wonky, skill trees are unforgiving. That's pretty much my only two faults.
