Main story : it is there just to be there, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If storytelling is important to you, you'll be dissapointed.

Weapons classes : I've tried only 3 of the 14 : Long Sword, Bow, Charged Blade. I have about 75 hours with bow, 2 hours with Charged Blade and the rest is Long Sword. More likely than not, there's a weapon class for you, just gotta try it out. However, the game is guilty of a melee tax. Ranged weapons outperform most of the melee weapons significantly.

Armor : There are ways to make it easier to attain rare monster parts through melding. It isn't too bad to get parts to build new armor/weapons.

Combat : If you're used to the i-frames of souls game, you're gonna have a bad time. They barely give you any in this one. I-framing the roars are super tight. Monsters in the main story do take a lot of time to kill since your gear will suck and you probably will suck too. Once you're in the end game, most monsters can comfortably be killed in 10-15 mins, 5 or less if you're really good and 15-20 if it's a toughie.

Decoration : Glorified gambling. A part of the game I didn't enjoy. With the introduction of iceborne, they added a buttload of new decorations and you can't target them specifically. There are people with 850 hours+ and they've never seen an attack+, agi+ or expert+. If you want to get the *perfect* setup, it might never happen.

Monsters : Grinding for gear is fun. Killing and hunting monsters is fun. Some are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I wish that they would eat their own feces, but for the most part, you can learn a monster once you've fought him enough times.

Realist in the sense that - for once - you're not a super soldier. Environment is tense. You'll die a couple times. Good game.

This game doesn't want you to feel weak. Mobility is insane (though it takes some time getting used to it). I like that most of the game is mission based as in I don't have to worry about a shallow/hollow open world in the likes of AC Odyssey. It's a grindy game for sure, but it is generally fair about it. Game is really fair when it comes to microtransactions and loot design. There are no RNG stats on a given weapon/warframe, which is something I appreciate. It is as enjoyable to play whether you want to play with friends or you want to go lone wolf.

Be wary: if you are a completionist, it'll take you a very long time to complete that game. Easily in the 5000+ hours.

If you approach this game in the hopes that it is a souls game, you're gonna have a bad time. No character selection, no name selection, no multiplayer, no diversity in stats, no weapon selection, no weapon progression and I'm probably missing some. However, if you accept that it is not a souls game, you're gonna have a blast. It has the fundamentals of a From Software game : difficult, punishing deaths and similar-ish combat.

Also, spoiler alert : Headless can suck a ♥♥♥♥.
