the messenger takes inspiration from old platforming games and then amplifies their good bits with modern game knowledge, resulting in a fun and challenging game. the different upgrades your caracter gets makes both the platforming and combat more interesting and fresh. the writing is clever and the shopkeepers different stories serves as a nice break after a difficult section. the bosses are challenging but don't overstay their welcome. there's a twist that, without giving to much away, reminds me of portal. all in all, it's entertaining the whole way and i definitely recommend the game.

TL;DR: The gameplay is just as fenomenal as the arsenal. For the price of 15€ there is even less reason not to get it. 9.5/10

Enter the gungeon is one of the best games I have ever played. Aside for some bugs that I could count on the fingers of one hand, and local multiplayer being a thing while online is not, there is no probelms to it.

The tutorial introduces the concepts as fast as a bullet while still being comprehensable and then shooting you into the game.

Every chamber has a randomized layout of premade rooms making the game feel different, yet recognizable at the same time. The enemies that spawn inside are also (kind of) randomized.

The loot from chests is randomized, which makes the fights more engaging.

The names and descriptions of items are almost always a reference that adds to the humor of the game.

The gameplay feels smooth and you rareley get mad at the game as it often is your own fault for taking damage or dying.

Health is fairly hard to come by and makes it feel inpactfull when you lose some.

The further you progress, the more difficult the earlier chambers become, makeing even the first one challenging.

The graphics and animations look fantastic and makes the enemies and their projectiles easy to read.

The sound track and sound effects fits well with the atmosphere of the game.

If you like dungeon crawlers, rouge-lite or bullet hell games (the last one quite literally) I highly doubt you will dislike it.
If you don't or haven't played those genres, I truly belive that this game, if any, will get you hooked.
