Review for Crea v1.4.9

Just some quick facts/TLDR:
  • Crea is fantastic, even in comparison to other games like Terraria
  • I played this game together with 7 other friends from my guild, with little to no issues.
  • Crea felt like a gem – A rare find.
  • Crea has some pretty cool mechanics, and more to look forward to in the future already.
  • The ONLY complaint I can say about this game, is it could use some more content, which I have no doubt will be added.
  • Jasson, the developer, is amazing!

Full Review:
My guild and I loved this game. We have been so sick of the amount of multiplayer games that are only 4 people max or poorly made/hardly updated. This game felt like an absolute rare find. Looking at the game, we were interested, and after playing it, we were not disappointed. We loved playing through Terraria, so that will be a big comparison I will use.

We began playing Crea, and it was initially a bit confusing, but we managed to understand it quickly with helpful bits of tutorials. I recall going to make my first piece of armor or weapon and being so confused with all I saw, but the tutorial was very good at explaining how the crafting works – and It was cool! Also, the skill trees were a pretty cool addition coming from Terraria. There (currently) are 5 trees: Arms (physical damage), Syle (Magic Damage), Mining, Crafting, and Exploration. All of these trees have its own level that you level up in doing things related to that tree, which was pretty neat. The trees add unique abilities, and overall improve your character. Your character as well has its own level (gained from killing mobs) which allows you to get attributes for your character (intellect, defense, etc.).

The entire play though of the game was enjoyable. I felt like it was a bit short, and more content would be a nice addition (more bosses, higher level, etc.), but that does NOT mean this game was lacking. I really loved the “level of detail” Crea had. While Terraria was longer, it did not have much in comparison to Crea mechanically speaking. As well, adding more content I feel is a lot easier than what Terraria would have to do to add similar mechanics to their game, and I can totally see this game getting more content.

Crea seems to be still in pretty good development. Jasson, the developer, loves this game, and has clearly shown he cares about improving player’s experiences. The game gets plenty of updates in short amounts of time, with bug fixes, and improvements. During our play through, we encountered a few bugs (and lets be real – every game has some bugs), which were all promptly replied to within 24 hours, and fixed very quickly. If you don’t believe me about Jasson, go check out his stream and see for yourself – go chat about the game with him while he makes it! https://www.twitch.tv/siegegames

As a group, we’d all agree this game was the best game of this type we’ve played. Crea was fantastic, and I look forward to seeing this game grow more (mechanics and content wise) and in popularity. Jasson is definitely passionate about his game, and has created a gem of a game. This game should not be passed up! I don’t have an x/10 (as I generally don’t do that), but as a quote from the guild: “If Crea was a 10/10, Terraria would be an 8, and Starbound would be a 5.”
