I love this game and it's characters

Ah, Cube World, the game that hadn't received and update for 6 years straight. Then, out of nowhere, he revealed the release of the game.
The game is very different from the alpha version. As a player of alpha with hundreds of hours, I can say I know the difference. In the alpha version of this game, progression is more worthwhile. Yes, the alpha version was more fun at times. But overall, the beta is a lot more fun. There was levels that boosted your stats, with linear progression and a skill tree. You could go where ever you wanted and use your new skills anywhere.
But in the beta version, that is where it changed. I have played the beta for awhile before writing this review, and I can surely say a lot is different. There is no sense of progression that isn't thrown away, except artifacts, but we will get to those later. In this version of the game, you still kill enemies and gain gear like usual. But whats the problem?, you might ask. Whenever you leave the region you got the gear in, it automatically becomes practically useless until you use it in the region you got it in. The same thing happens to your special items (specials are things like hang gliders which are region bound too). Then how do you progress then? Short answer, you really don't. When you find a artifact (item that gives you a stat boost) the boost is often so low that it isn't even noticeable. I had 5 pet speed artifacts and my pet speed only went up 18%. There isn't any damage boosting artifacts either, only mobility ones.
But that doesn't mean the game is bad. While playing, I have had a lot of fun. With all the new structures and dungeons he have added it has made it a lot more fun to explore. The region size is smaller and the structures are packed together closer so it is a lot easier to find something to do. He has added more skills for your class, making it a lot more fun to attack and fight enemies. He has added music to the game, which sounds amazing. The game just really needs some tweaks. Progression should feel more worthwhile by having artifacts give more of a stat boost, and damage/hp boost/ etc artifacts should be introduced. Players who have a lot more hours in the game shouldn't be the same level as a guy with 25 minutes once they leave their region.

Despite all the changes and criticism, I will give the game a good review as I have really enjoyed it. It has been fun.
