Good fun little game, easy learning curve. Is a little repetative but once they add some new maps it should fix it.

In it's current state, it's quite tidy for an early access game and the price is entirely reasonable for what you get. doesn't seem to be short of content so far, which is important because multiplayer hyper acceslerates the progression and we've functionally industrialised as a two man team in about 2 hrs.

Yes, the EULA is a horrific abomination, but it's cheap enough and sound enough IN ITS CURRENT STATE to warrant the support, and it's admirably nothing like sub-zero.

With regards to the fish killing thing, I highly recommend trying the mod (I probably will), as being unable to kill them robs the choice of any significance. It was a shame to kill a leviathan in the first one because they were finite. Killing them actively worstened the experience and made the world feel emptier. In that regard, subnautica 2 is just slightly inferior. The inability to kill removes any significance of the leviathans, and where there was a resource impetus to learn the behaviours of aggresive fish in the first (dropped teeth, sulphur deposits etc), so far in the second they're just annoying.

I like the setting, (Most of) the gameplay, the design aesthetics, the emphasis on genetic modification to make sense of the gameplay and the asking price, I just hope they dial it in a bit more and reneg on that one very confusing direction decision as it cheapens the experience.

Great game, stamina loss on hit is the worst mecahnic I've ever seen in a game though. it just guarantees that once you start losing you can't recover. Needs to be toned down or removed entirely but other than that it's fantastic.

Direct improvement on the formula of the first game, just a shame the multiplayer pvp died immediately. Thunder hammer and heavy melta hit like and eviction notice from god 10/10.

If you can suffer through the hypersweat battlefield fans and their meta builds long enough to learn the mechanics, the gunplay is quite interesting and fun. If you don't have a controller, you won't be able to fly and you're going to have to cope with the aim assist of people that do, but everything else more or less works as intended.

Worth the asking price even in it's current state and plays very tightly. Only encountered a couple of bugs involving clipping through terrain and only one of which was game breaking, damaged walls and floors seem to occasionally have collision problems that let you walk through the map, but unless you respawn outside of an active boss room and can't get back in, it isn't much of a problem.

Great little game, more of a spiritual successor to subnautica than below zero was. 10/10 would drunk drive the mars rover again.

Let me preface this by saying there's substance to all the negative reviews. Iceborne has some of the worst hitboxes & movement animations I've ever seen in a game and some of the cheapest attack combos and instakill status/alt attacks you'll ever see in any game, and some of the creatures are just straight out broken (like black Diablos spending it's entire hunt underground to time you out).
However, The base game really draws you in, and even the majority of iceborne was pretty brainless to steamroll through as a solo insect glaive, even as someone who was new to the franchise. Even the really painful and cheap creatures can be cheesed with a solid team or an sos flare, and if you enjoy the base game, you'll probably appreciate most of the content in iceborne that isn't covid dragon, hammer monkey, or the exact same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enemy reskinned 3 times with 0 hitbox corrections
