downloaded the Steam version purely to leave a review:

if it weren't for the fact that they were releasing this game on Steam, they would have never disclosed the fact that they used genAI in the game. this was announced as an @everyone message in their Discord, after hundreds of people have already accused and spoken up against it

even if you ignore the use of genAI (whether you're pro-genAI or simply do not care), this pc port is the bare minimum. the game was developed to be mobile first, and it shows to an annoying extent. controls are awkward at best, and downright nonexistant at worst

this is a gacha game, which isn't a surprise to a f2p game (much less a /chinese/ f2p game) yet the only way to pull on banners is to spend actual money. i've never seen any other gacha game be so hostile towards its f2p players regarding their pulls. they're also rigged to sh!t, the whole gimmick of getting a 'specialty item' that automatically gives you every other item in the banner is a complete lie. you will NOT get it. the items are predetermined so you will always get the specialty item last after you've already gotten everything else

the game is cute, very slow-paced, has so much creative freedom for their players (you can write and publish books, publish music, make and design your own furniture and clothes etc). this game has the most creative freedom i've ever seen in any game. player creation is ENCOURAGED with the quests never shutting up until you paint something, or publish written books, or make music and have others buy and listen to them... yet the devs themselves can't follow their own message of art?? only when it was required by Steam to say you use AI did they finally come out with it. they were HOPING to get away with it. this game has been out for a year in China, yet only NOW are they admitting to it

i do like this game!! i like it a lot! and it's very frustrating to see the direction they went with using genAI here !!!!

remember how fun the Mantis Lords fight was in Hollow Knight?
what if that was the entire game?
the humble skong:

edit:
i have one major criticism, (copy pasted from a message i sent in discord to my friends)
easy bosses/mini-bosses dealing two damage to compensate for their easy attacks (and that being b#llsh!!t because imo it nullifies the whole shtick of double damage being a far more imposing aspect of the enemy/boss) is a low blow, especially with how many there are due to Hornet having less i-frames. when f#cking Sister Splinter or the Beast dealt two damage, i just rolled my eyes because they're both nobodies in the story. in the first game there were only a few bosses who dealt that damage and both were extremely pivotal to the plot/world

adding on to this message (too lazy to change it rn) ^^ soo many normal enemies deal 2 damage as well bc of the i-frame moment :tm:

but like this is to compensate the fact that yeah the enemies *are* more competent, that competency leads to them having predictable movesets + you can heal 3 masks at once (also adding on that getting your first mask (sixth) is so underwhelming bc you still die at 3 hits bc EVERYTHING DEALS 2 DAMAGE

still tho, even if *as* a compensation you can't deny how annoying it gets. environmental damage should NOT be kicking my ass more than the FINAL BOSS OF THE ACT

fortunately i haven't been having that much of a tough time

anyway everything else has been extremely fun
the fight clubs/enemy rushes aren't tho they're really annoying because they happen so often...

not sure how to feel about this one, i'll be honest
got roped into a corp on my first week and then i dropped the game a month later (largely due to wanting to focus on my academics). feel quite bad about it. the missions we had were fun though

was a nice game while it lasted.
the learning curve is an actual cliff and it seems almost hopeless to get into unless you do literal homework (or are autistic (hey !! points at myself that's me !! that's m))
absolutely captivated me for the 50h it could get on me. but quickly saw many issues with how the developers handle the game which in turn affect the community

do i recommend it? i... guess...?
it requires a lot of commitment... and altho that's true for most MMO's, EVE requires HARD commitment. actual autismo levels of commitment. which i was willing to give... up until i remembered that i had a life to take care of and interests to cater to

at least Support was nice enough to refund my membership after i forgot to cancel it

Played on global release on mobile, and stopped playing up 'til the uh... slasher-parody update i don't remember when that was. 1.2 i think

My hours do NOT reflect actual playtime for obvious reasons...

Was mainly drawn in by the art, and the object arcanists (hello unique character design that isn't just animu waifu no.9734). Story is confusing, and I honestly lost track on it after they revealed the void lady or whoever she was and the dream sequences... what
It's giving "deep lore but actually it just dumps you in the middle and then infodumps and expects that to impress you" sometimes but it's still fun to go through.

i LOVEEEE the presentation of the arcanists in their like overview/about me section,,... like YES it's so cool like "This portrait was made in 20XX at [location] and is now presented at [location] THAT IS SO COOL

A Knight my beloved <333 my goat forever the goat
and my daughter Eagle

kinda miss the game ngl :( but i have commitment issues with daily games cus of burnout sorry :(

also ASSASSIN'S CREED CROSSOVER??? Bluepoch is growing up so fast.,............

i'm not competitive enough to enjoy this for the long* run, evidently.
that's why i stopped playing osu!
i mean i did enjoy it i like rhythm games. i think being asian buffs you probably

will admit tho i'd rather much turn to osu! if i ever have the itch to play 4k/7k but that's probably bias
(^^ fortunately have been osu! free for 3 years)

will always support open-source. nice one, guys

i mean i guess i'll give it a ?? negative ?? review ??? cus like i'm reviewing for a game, aren't i?? and well this is less a game and more like filler for the stuff you actually want: fancy looking achievements to make your profile look fancier

i actually did like the mechanics presented and how relaxing it is but like... yk it's easy, too easy, and that's the point...

do i give it positive?>??? idk it's barely a game but it serves its purpose as a chieve farmer
for base price definitely don't go for it even IF you REALLY want those fancy achievements. that's like paying for a FONT like brother what

i got this for free basically from a Steam coupon thing or something i don't remember
i think

i'm ngl i got over the "spelling xyz with achievements" phase pretty quickly because it looks cliche hahaha

After having played Sky for 4 years straight daily (2020-2024), I can no longer muster up the energy to commit to another daily game.
I enjoyed the time I've spent with it, as little as it might have been.
Wish I stayed long enough to fully appreciate the house decorating as that's what I was mainly excited for. Can't have bb.enablefreebuild equivalent tho lol

Only ever knew about this game (and ""played"" it) because a friend of mine didn't have friends to play with LOL uhh that was like 2 years ago sorry Mari

Really only had two glaring issues with it:
  • IAP's are abysmal, almost feeling like those predatory mobile game ones (yes I'm looking at Sky). Fortunately it's all mostly cosmetic and some cute ones are still available completely F2P.
  • Underwhelming visuals, especially after the game was released for the Switch. This includes extra foliage/detail, shadows, LODs and colour (couldn't live without ReShade, thank God). This is especially confusing 'cause like... the game already has options on how much it should tryhard for the graphics, and you're telling me they had to dumb it down that much for the Switch that ""ultra"" looks the exact same as Very Low??? bruh

anyway
yeah

oh also i don't like the trend of like making inhuman characters but have them still look. human. seriously that sucks
i liked the fisherman robot guy a lot he was cute :) i enjoyed fishing the most out of every other uh mastery or whatever they called it ingame
