This game is awesome. Very much worth the price I payed when it was in Early Access, but I'd still buy it today for a friend if they didn't already have it. (Great Gift for fellow gamer's).
Great game, made better with friends. Plenty of replay-ability. I nominated it for "Better With Friends", but I would have just as much nominated it for the "Labour Of Love" Steam award.
I recommend playing with a friend.

Pros:
+ balanced gameplay (to the point where skill makes all the difference)
+ simple mechanics (easy and quick to learn)
+ equipment/tools make a big difference (the difference between life and death sometimes)
+ very thrilling as a survivor
+ few bugs (they probably won't affect your gameplay)

Cons:
- can't communicate in-game with fellow survivors (actual mechanic)
- can't party up with friends (only in private matches, but then you'll need 4 friends for a full game)

My Experience:
I liked playing the game, it's fun. It could do more, but that's what DLC and updates are for. I personally like playing the Survivors because it's harder. Being the monster isn't easy, it's just that I like beating the monster even more.

Tip: It doesn't say this in any tutorial but if you are the last survivor then a random trap door placed at the beginning of the game opens. You can use the trap door to escape, plus you get more points doing so.

Great gameplay, very fun to play. Only problem I have is that their isn't much content (maps, characters, ect.).
