I love the art style. You can really see how much work and care went into the 2D animations. The game mechanics are solid, and the core gameplay loop is genuinely fun. The story so far has been interesting, and I’m excited to see where it goes. Definitely worth checking out for a great time :P

Not recomended when you have an ultra wide screen.
The image gets stretched and distorted.

Heck this is good, love the story, great voice actors, amazing animations. It is just so darn sad that if consumed in one gulp it leaves you craving for more.
You feel that a lot of love has flown into this piece of art.
This game is quite short. But it is worth every penny.
Hopefully there will be a season 2, can’t wait for it :D

The Game itself is damn near perfect. It is well optimized. The ARC enemies are challenging and fun to crack. The World is gorious and a lot of love has been put into small Details all over the maps. The only reason why I currently can not recommend this game are the 3% of the players that are absolutely toxic. As long as it is possible to riskfree camp exfil elevators and shafts this will be abused and ruines the fun for manny players.

The 3 huge problems are:
1. The game regularly drops you into lobbies that are up for some 6-10 minutes. This puts the player at a massive disadvantage.

2. If you want to play with one buddy and you join a match you are being put into a server with trios. There is no duos queue. Again putting you and your partner in crime at a massive disadvantage.

3. It is super easy to camp at exfil sports and just wait for the loot to come to you. This is something that especially in the solo games is a big hecking problem.

The Game is amazing. Gunplay feels great, core gameplay loop is fun.
The only thing that makes me a bit sad is that portal is dead by design there are what feels like 2000 server slots for the EU and they are always at 100% capacity.
So it it more likely to win in the lottery then getting your experience to run.
This is a classic EA cooperative greed thing.
They want to keep 100% control so no dedicated self hosted servers. And on the other hand want to spend only the bare minimum of money for server resources. It is sad to see Portal die (again).

Also 3 Sidenotes @EA:
The Netflix-like Menu is an UX nightmare.
The setting menu desperately NEEDS a search box.
Add Linux support, Windows 11 is a nightmare.

In the first two hours, I experienced several crashes, and the performance was as bad as it gets. On my RTX 4090, I was getting only 30–40 FPS. Sorry, but this is going straight back in the bin.

I wonder why publishers think it's okay to release unoptimized games and still ask €130 for the full experience.

Maybe I’ll consider picking it up again when it’s properly optimized and priced closer to €40.

The answer to the question what would happen if you tape together Starship Troopers, Warhammer 40k and Star Wars. And give that brick to the blendtech guy.
It blends surprisingly well.
It’s an absolute blast, one of the best if not the best co-op shooter of all time.

The good:
+ Campaign: Wow! Just WOW!
+ The Visuals are Amazing
+ Performance is well optimized
+ coop mode that actually is fun to play with friends

The Meh:
# it's overpriced
# there seems to be no hardcore mode
# the menu is a UX ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
# no map vote
# repetitive map design

The Bad:
- Matchmaking seems to be broken, if you perform well in one round expect super sweaty lobbies for the next 10 or 12 rounds
- Crashes, expect many of them
- hits are often not recognized, especially when the target has network issues
- The anticheat does not seem to do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
- The spawn system has to be optimized
- crash problems get worse when you try to play with friends
- co-op missions love to crash

My advice: For the campaign watch a play through, and wait for the price to drop bekow 40 Bucks. By that time the game should be finished and payable.

edit: A friend of mine has been banned by the anti-cheat, and I highly dougt that he is a cheater.

Played for 127 hours. Then the game corrupted the save game.
I loved the experience till that point. But now I am way to frustrated to start over again.
To be honest I was devestated when I realised my charakter was gone, and I was genuenly sad about that.
So the game has to be realy good :D
If you play and enjoy this game, make backups of your save files regulary!
