Have played the game for over 5 consecutive years with 8k hours at the time of writing. I have seen this game evolve over time into the fantastic MOBA it is. The game has a steep learning curve, but features many diverse playstyles just about anybody could sink into. Almost every game starts the same, but will likely become something else in just mere minutes. Although the community attitude and competitive environment are rather lackluster, I don't believe that should take away from the aesthetic qualities that make DotA such a great game.
