I've been kinda sad recently so I picked up this game because hey, cats. Cats are fun.
Ending hit me way harder than it should have. Worth it.

I really wanted to like Boneworks, but so far the player physics & controls have just been too janky to be fun.

I remember from the beginning chapter that the player's collider is pill-shaped. This makes standing on narrow surfaces and ledges difficult and makes pulling yourself over things almost impossible—the spherical bottom half of the pill collider will push you away from edges, and god forbid it's the edge of a physics object, it'll push the physics object away from you too. The player's acceleration/deceleration is also really low, which means precise movement is virtually impossible unless you have a gigantic play space.

Climbing across things was also a bit too hard in certain cases. There's some monkey-bars formed by steel beams in Runoff I could just not get across. Going under didn't work because the player's arms are too short to reach from one beam to the next reliably, and jumping across the tops of them also didn't work because of the player's low acceleration and general imprecision.

My final issue is that aiming the larger assault rifles is actually really hard—even with two hands—because sometimes the gun will just decide it's colliding with you and will refuse to point in a particular direction until you put it down and pick it back up again. The issue actually seems WORSE when you hold a gun with two hands—precisely the worst time for it to happen since the assault rifles are "heavy" and require two hands to be usable.

The game is a wonderful concept but I just can't deal with the controls. Will play again if there's ever a patch to disable janky physics.
