A bit of support? Sure! The skins look good and the effects are nice, and the new palette menu is such a good change! I love this game so I'm okay with dumping some more money into it, and all the new FREE KINGDOMS CONTENT is really nice, so I think they deserve this. Hoping for more content, continued rebalancing and mod support!

♥♥♥♥ idk the arts like really cool but this game still needs a lot of time and work; half the characters need to be modernized and a ton of enemy moves need to be reworked. honestly a ton of things need work; excessive boss cleaves, stress/hp heal thresholds are unnescessary at times + percentage heals are not ideal, affinity system got gutted and is just a stat, 4 hour runs that you build ONE party for which ends up in a specialized fight but it also has to do ok throughout all the regions, the grind is a bit relentless at times, stress damage and meltdowns are a lot more common and, in my opinion, an odd replacement for afflictions, trinkets are weird, quirks are meh, and the general gameplay loop of the game isnt THE WORST but gosh does it need polish and reviewing. Don't get me wrong, I adore this game, it's turned into one of my comfort games for now but for that exact reason I can't say it's perfect in any way. I mean DD1 has its flaws, yes, but in this game they seem to have tried to work those flaws out ruthlessly and without much thought (mainly stalling; which to be honest isnt much of an issue in this game. Red Hook, let us stun and heal properly, christ)
But uhh. idk. id reccomend trying out dd1 first; the games atmosphere is just that much more captivating and team building is fun and rewarded because regions are specialized. like wtf is Runaway supposed to do in the sprawl lmao. Also the Ancestor narrator is too iconic.
game definitely doesnt feel finished, but it still has a LOT of replay to offer as of right now, i mean thats kind of what roguelikes are supposed to do? even tho dd2 doesnt get the roguelike feeling quite right. uhh. the models are awesome tho! just wish the meltdown poses were as dramatic as the ones in dd1. meltdowns just look kinda silly sometimes lol. also christ, your stress bar in this game is half of what it was in dd1 and stress damage is much more impactful it sucks. anyway my brain juices have been squeezed enough so thats my rant for now. yipee

EDIT 25/02: Ordainment has recieved a nerf; it no longer grants speed to enemies, and Act 2's ordainment 40% damage and hp buff has been reduced to 30% (was 40%). This actually fixes a lot of issues with ordainment. I still believe some enemies need some reworks, mainly I'd like to see guard moves be better against bosses who cleave way too often, but the game is genuinely very smooth to play through now, since speed stats arent so enemy favored. All in all, the more updates this game gets, the better its balancing is. Oh, and free new gamemode, hell yeah? wtf

i liked it when the ancestor said "amongst all of the dungeons..... this must be.. one of the darkest......."
