I love this game. A huge part of this is the just awesome soundtrack along with an entertaining storyline. Ozzie, Motley Crue, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, KISS, Anthrax, Motorhead, Tenacious D, and more. On top of a linear storyline, there are a lot of optional side missions which are purely for tokens for upgrades to your car, weapons, car weapons.

I am not done with the game yet but I have to say I love Jack Black and this game is a lot about him too. His humor and characters speaks literally as you play the part of Eddie.

The game also has suprisingly tactical warcraft elements. Besides the first person, hack and slash, car driving shoot and run over things you have storyline missions where you take tacticaly points, generate resources, train units, upgrade and move against the enemy. While that occurs you also can drive, fly (I know, weird) or run around the battle field to help out in person or more manually control groups of units.

A lot of elements from this game have been borrowed from other games, but it has been brought together in an entertaining story, action combo filled hack and slash. All along with great music. Highly recommended.

A couple other notes, you can play the game on gently, normal, or brutal (I have only played on brutal) and with or without gore and profanity.
