Positively suprised by the release. EU5 has incredible depth and scale, pulling in mechanics from all kinds of Paradox games and actually making them work together in a cohesive way. It supports different playstyles and does not push you towards pure conquest all the time. For a Paradox release, it’s also quite polished I would say. Performance can always be improved, but I do not have crashes nor is the game running slowly.

That said, the game still needs some further polish, especially when it comes to the UI, which can feel clunky or feel like it is hiding information, and the AI, which struggles with consolidating major regions like China, Russia or Anatolia. Regardless, I'm having a ton of fun with the game and the points mentioned are no dealbreakers.

Looking forward I am very optimistic, since the devs are patching quickly and are already focusing on improving exactly these rough spots.

It has had its ups and downs, but overall it delivers a fantastic Total War experience with a level of faction diversity unmatched by any other game. Hopefully no new game-breaking bugs are introduced in future patches.

Das "echte" Siedler. Zwar noch im Early Access, aber bereits sehr spaßig.

Took me 120 hours for my first playthrough. This game is a masterpiece.
