A great time, especially with friends. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

It is a game where you hunt monsters. The draw of the game comes from the fact that most of the monsters are way bigger than you. Every hunt feels like a brand new boss battle. You learn what kind of moves and attacks each monster has. You learn what signals that you need to dodge a big incoming hit. Then you use the parts of the monsters you hunt to make better weapons and armor. Each new hunt feels just as challenging or even more so than the last. You start to wonder if you have even mad any progress, then you hunt one of the earlier monsters with your new gear and wonder, "Why did I ever think this was hard?" Part of it is your new, better gear, but the other part is you are just getting better at the game, finding the weapon and playstyle that works for you. You start to uncover more of the intricacies of the game. It is no longer just about hit it until it dies, you wear a chest piece with a skill to do more blast damage, which is stacking with the jewel you put in your helmet to do more blast damage, all to make the blast hammer that you love even better. You start loving to hunt certain monsters because they are just so active the entire fight, it is a thrill the whole time. While the joy of hunting other monsters that are just so big and tanky comes from how you learned exactly how to hit their weak point. Then just as you think you have completed the game you are introduced to High Rank mode. Then after you finish that and think you are done, they release the Iceborne DLC with new monsters and Mastery Rank mode. Followed up with regular releases of new monsters with new associated weapons and armor. Overall it is one of the games I have had the most fun playing both by myself and with friends, which is one of the other best parts, almost the entirety of the game is playable with friends.

Great game. A lot of content, which can be a little overwhelming to new players. When I try to explain the game to friends, or help a new player, there are a lot of words that are unique to this game. However, you cannot beat the fact it is free. For how good the game looks and how much content it has I am surprised by the caliber of game it brings while being free. I highly reccomend.
