Fun little game, would be nice to see a full size game of this concept.

Great, painful, emotional and miserable Balkan story of one of the best protagonist in games ever, Niko Bellic.
The Balkan and Slavic culture is always a +1 for me.

A shame that Rockstar didn't put effort in optimizing the PC version well enough and I kinda missed modifying cars like in GTA SA. At least Rockstar learned from this mistake and optimized GTA 5 very well and I hope they will continue doing that in the future.

Beautiful art, lots of hidden/secret locations to explore, great ambient sounds and music.
Would love to see a second game with even more story content.

Unfortunately java hickups sometimes and achievements are still broken

So I decided to play this game after a year (I stopped after Season 4) and it's unfortunate to see the game in this state.

1. It's bloated with microtransaction related content popups
2. Horrible default settings regarding mouse sensitivity and FoV changes
3. The minimum or even recommended requirements are NOT enough to play this game. I used a completely overclocked desktop which has an i5-4690k and a GTX960 (which is equivalent to a GTX1050) and the game had tons of stutters and screen tearing. Playing the game on the lowest settings did not solve the issues here. It's sad to see how this game got so bloated, since it used to run fine on medium settings back in 2018-2019.


Other than that, amazing BR concept as my first review was. You choose where you spawn, the region "lock" instead of a closing in circle is great for potential choke points and the helicopter escape is a cool twist that allows up to 4 people to win a match and the ending is always exciting.

See how enemies miss every shot and get you killed and you have to aim precisely to kill. Aiming down the sights is useless, just go csgo style. Game is not fluid, lag spikes every now and then. Always the same, spawnkilling is the key to success.

After playing this game for a long time, I can finally say that it's worth playing, especially for new players. The game is finally better balanced for new players and the daily rewards really help out.

The fact that everything (yes, everything) can be purchased with in game currency (even veteran membership!) is the best thing Reto has done to make this game truly free to play without limitations. Pay to win? No, it's pay to progress faster, but in reality, it's not needed.

How to start playing this game and git gut:
1. Pickup weapons and get familiar with a good setup, I myself really enjoy the FG42 for infantry (you can get it through unlocking it by picking it up and killing many enemies with it).
2. Grind for that good setup and use it to earn credits (the best is to level up one character as much as you can for a better base income)
3. Save up 600k credits and buy 30 days veteran
4. Play more and always have 600k aside for another 30 days run
From now on, you can spend the extra money on your soldiers, be it skins, weapons, vehicles.

A couple of good tips:
- Check the Heroes & Generals dudwire website to figure out the costs of weapon mods.
- Don't overdo it with mods, 1 or 2 mods is often enough.
- Save up a lot of credits for special occasions. During the Christmas period, you can buy x-mas exclusive skins for selected weapons, I like them a lot.
- Always save up the credits to buy rank 12+ soldiers. The time you spend grinding a low level soldier does not outweigh the lower income per battle, meaning that you lose potential income over time.
- Join the official Heroes & Generals discord to be the first one to know about updates, events and more. You can even bring in suggestions to make the game better (but please, do yourself and others a favor and don't write down quick suggestions such as "new maps pls", explain what you'd want to see in more detail).
- If you are more invested in playing, always get veteran, it will not only help with credits, but Warfunds is a huge deal with veteran. Warfunds allow you to progress in the RTS part of the game quicker, which can level up your soldiers for more credit income in the action game.

This has a really interesting story. The game has some issues like resolution match, and the animations are really amateuristic, but the story is really great (yet small). I hope Act 2/3/4 will have improvements on the game itself rather than the story (as the story is already great).
