One minute I was dying to at bat in the forest and the next minute I'm being chased by a biblical angel. I'm not sure where things went horribly right!

I'll say having completed all the Challenge achievement builds it's a fun game and worth the 3 dollar entry fee. After you figure out the winning formula there isn't much to see or do. I'm hoping there is content or achievements added down the line to pad out your runs or to get you to try unique builds and combinations. As is you run out of things to explore around win number 7 and the game wants you to do 15 wins just to experience the hardest difficulty. That's investing 2+ hours doing the exact same thing over and over. Your reward all simply boils down to the enemies have slightly more HP or deal slightly more damage which is a let down. With the correct builds you are unable to even tell the increase to difficulty either. I'd definitely say I got my 3 dollars of enjoyment out of it though!

O.G. Ultimate Defender here from DD1 and logged more than a few hours into DD2
A note, my review is mainly focused on the devs from my aspect of someone who cherished the IP enough to log over 2000 hours into it.

First off I want to say thank you for the effort that has went into making this product I see it has a lot of potential and care has went into it.
That said, I can't really recommend anyone purchase this product right now unless you mainly want to show support for the staff as I do then I can fully recommend it as it has promise. Much more than DD Eternity did.

The things that have stuck with me so far are
- There's no Ultrawide Support I have a 21:9 and 32:9 monitor there is significant stretching on both. For being a "Modern Version" I hope this is addressed.
- AI Pathing isn't great and isn't intolerable the pathing was wonky in the original I hope it can be improved on
- I dislike that currency and "mana" Are separate entities unlike the original as it added an interesting concept to the original it's just a minor complaint I have.
- Monk Boost auras are stationary entities instead of following the monk now which I can see as being both beneficial and harmful. I preferred the original but I could see interesting applications with the rework.
- Proximity Mines seem FAR stronger and the resets seem to take far longer in general
- Enemy stats seem wonky Kobolds seem massively buffed to a near challenge map level as they can one shot many things starting out including your crystal
- The UI needs an overhaul there is no action wheel anymore or hotbar and the UI windows remind me of a windows application rather than a game.
- The"hoi" button is awful. Instead of being able to Hoiiiiiiii at people to give an alert it's just blip sound effect. Yes this is absolutely detrimental. I got much enjoyment at Hoiiiing at people.

All and all I don't regret my purchase in the slightest and have huge hopes but the games going to need a lot of polish to live up to its predecessors but from what I've seen so far I truly believe the Devs have a shot.
