Team Cherry has once again created a masterpiece of a game.

Well, now that Sony have listened and are no longer stopping a significant amount of the world from being able to play the game, I can leave my positive review instead.

Helldivers 2 is a live service game done right. Everything is earnable in game without any microtransactions, and nothing is available through microtransactions that can't be obtained with an identical effect in game.

Earning these things in game is also not a grindy experience.

The game is visually stunning, and while it has some bugs in it, most have been fixed, or acknowledged by the developers that they are working on fixing, some even with a timeframe.

The gameplay is solid, the weapons (for the most part) feel amazing to use, and the combat is nice and responsive, even when playing with a host from another country.

The devs communicate fairly frequently, and aren't afraid of apologising or admitting fault, which is a pleasant change of pace.

The ongoing development has slowed pace of new content, mostly due to the devs pivoting to balancing things and fixing major bugs that have reared their heads.

It's Slay the Spire meets FTL.

If you like deck builders, this is a solid choice.

It's the classic From Software formula with many improvements and an amazingly detailed, massive world to explore and die many, many, many times in.

As someone who got my copy of Control via Humble Choice, I do not have the Ultimate Edition, but because of the flawed way that 505 has set up the store page and depots, I cannot actually buy Ultimate Edition on Steam without revoking the game from my library completely.

This poor implementation of the store page(s) and depots is entirely 505's fault, and despite them knowing about it, they have done nothing to fix it for months now. They no longer even list the DLCs on Steam so that I can buy them without dancing around through third party purchases, nor do they offer an "Ultimate Edition Upgrade" for those of us that may wish to upgrade without revoking and repurchasing the game.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this game due to this poor anti-consumer behaviour from the publisher, despite my enjoyment of the game.

The gameplay, the music, the voice acting... heck, just 'the everything' about this game is typical amazing Supergiant Games polish.

This game is a love letter to the Metroid-Vania genre.

Incredibly huge, detailed world that constantly left me wanting more (except Deepnest, that place needs a purging with fire).

Amazing soundtrack, haunting melodies, tense boss music, just superb music everywhere.

Tight controls that never left me feeling like I wasn't in control of the Knight.

I'll just stop here, otherwise this will get to be waaaaay too long, just an amazing game.

Gets new updates reasonably frequently, constantly challenging, frequently maddening.
