Path of Exile is an absolutely fantastic game. I've played this game for 7 years, made tons of friends, and learned a ton. When you first launch, it can seem incredibly overwhelming. The amount of content in the game is crazy. But there are Thousands of online guides and tutorials for every piece of content.

That being said, i can't recommend the game in its current state. Within the last month, both new and old players have received bans out of nowhere. We had a guild member banned in act 4 before he had even completed the campaign, and about a week later i was banned as well for "Third-Party Software".

The thing is, if you do decide to pick up this game, There are Dozens of tools that are used by the community. Some are seen as completely harmless and not a threat to your account, yet a quick search on reddit will swear their accounts were banned for using the same tools. Friends and Acquaintances i have made playing this game are still actively playing and using the same toolsets i had been using with no issue. GGG refuses to make a stance on "Safe" third party tools, leaving the playerbase guessing what is ok, or relying on others to test tools before using them.

The craziest part of all of this is that when i emailed support asking if i had the correct email to appeal a ban, That question counted as my appeal and my account was permanently closed, i couldn't appeal or ask for any information.


This was the final email stating that an account i have played for 7 years, with over 1000$ in MTX, is gone.

So in short, the game is fantastic, but i was really let down by support.

Edit: Unbanned after ~20 emails and a physical letter all is good with the world. Chris is the GOAT
