Good scares,
Decent horror portion of the campaign.
Leon portions are genuinely fun.
You will have a lot of fun but ultimately not worth full price. It's too short even going for achievements. I got all of them minus reading all documents and it clocked me for 35 hours.

RE4 took nearly twice as long on average. While RE4 takes away from the original campyness it is a very good game and I think worth your time and money more. Village was also a bit short.

Hopefully the next installment will be longer.

So many years to address glaring hitbox issues with enemy attacks.....

The most unforgivable sin is not that this has become a psuedo open world game its the fact that they feel so unoriginal in each area. I just feel like I am playing a DLC of the second installment only the parry system is replaced with a worse system that makes you swap weapons to do it so to counter right after you go from tonfa to katana....

To make it even worse than that I feel so disconnected from an actual story. The game itself had meaning and purpose and story progressing along but in this I spent 10 hours walking the map clearing areas which have LEVEL RECCOMENDATIONS only to find areas I couldn't traverse til I found some spirit I don't have and honestly it just doesn't FEEL like a good Nioh Game.

I have spent too much time for a refund but please do yourselves a favor and trust me...Watch a playthrough for a bit. It doesn't look better. It doesn't play much better. And I feel less involved in the story.

Not worth the price and I am so tired of being dissapointed by games lately...

I can say from the atmosphere, combat, and difficulty it was like Skyrim but MUCH more fun and felt less clunky.

If you want something to bridge the gap and enjoy a good 45-70 hour game if you want to do EVERY quest and about 34-40 for just brute forcing the campaign *I did it on the middle difficulty and got wrecked up til the middle of the game and figured out how to do movement but EARLY IS SO HARD*....

I will tell you the writing is good and much better than skyrim and voice actors were not bad. I enjoyed a lot of it and honestly I will be buying the second installment.

I bought the game and them midway through knew I wanted the DLC...

As for the DLC....It felt kinda lacking sadly. Not much enemy variety and the areas while pretty required incredibly inconvenient travel systems without using teleporting nodes which meant it probably took about 4 hours longer than it should. By the near end I had about 4-6 quests unfinished and more I probably didn't do or areas I didn't see and didn't care much to see them all. Most of the rewards were trash sadly.

ALSO IT HAS NG+ but honestly for me I think I want to take a break for a bit and may just wait till the second game. It was an experience but I want more fluid combat and more difficulty that doesn't feel like being 2 shot sometimes at least early.

ALSO EARLY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REMEMBER TO BLOCK AND GET A SHIELD DO NOT TRY TO BE A 2 HAND MAN SO EARLY YOU WILL GET 2 SHOT BY FIREBALLS LOL

Took barely 11 hours to beat and would have taken about 6 had I not tried to complete the side quests.

Get on sale while you can it is NOT worth 50$ retail.

I try to get games as a 1$ per hour spent...I spent 20$ on it and don't really see myself investing in it more hours. Not much there in NG+ sure you get gadgets and all your tech but you can get all the really good ones basically within the first 30 minutes.

Inferior to the original Spiderman and I am not saying its Miles I am just saying gameplay wise it was.....Not really worth my time.

My review:

Spent 3 hours trying to find a base and being killed repeatedly out of the gate outside of a village I was apparently not well equipped to handle.

Killed all of them like I would in a souls-like with sheer stupid determination. Did not level up once. Enemies were level 5.

Found a warpick that was level 28 on a bridge and proceeded to take 4 more hours to clear a skeleton infested dungeon at level 5 dying in one hit repeatedly. Skeletons were level 10. Couldn't find armor. Found a ♥♥♥♥ load of weapons all worse than the one I got on the bridge. Proceeded to brute force the dungeon. Got an NPC that makes magic....I don't want magic.

9 hours in I found out the guy I saved earlier makes armor...Armor is a hell of a grind and requires some parts I never saw. Enemy level is bizzarely unbalanced. Either level 2 or level 20 and you only have time to find out if they oneshot you if its the latter.

Spent the rest of the time building my base.


Completing quests gives more rewards than killing hordes of higher level enemies. Leveling regardless takes a LOOOONG time. I am here for grinding but this kind of grinding is NOT fun.

I played Ark: Survival Evolved where I could as a level 20 human run into a level 50 Alpha Raptor and get two shot but the XP gain was MUCH better and material grind more rewarding. A LOT more to craft and do....I did not feel like this game will reward me enough for the time it is asking for.

I consider this game to be probably my favorite among the most recent souls-like combat requiring dodging, precision combos, and that vibe of finally returning the favor after getting your teeth kicked in for a solid hour on a boss you do NOT feel is unfair and it is all you just being greedy. It is INCREDIBLY hard to balance fair difficulty and frustratingly forced difficulty. This game gave you so many ways to win and change up your strategies the only loss I can consider is that the quests were obtuse to say the least and NG+ while fun is required to craft some of them which if you miss in the first run means you have to NG++ which ultimately doesn't change much beyond damage taken and damage dealt...No true changing bosses beyond a certain subgroup and true ending but that is sadly the part about the "Obtuse quests" issue so I warn on your first playthrough look up the bosses in the fire area (NG+ REQUIRED TO COMPLETE SET AS YOU ONLY GET ENOUGH FOR HALF ON FIRST PLATHROUGH) the others you can go back for but not this one really...There is another SPECIFICALLY for NG+ but you should look them up.

Yes I am advocating guides but this game has probably some of the best combat I have seen beating out Lies of P and a even to me Elden Ring it's just such a fun hack and slash game you really have to give it a go!

I will buy buying everything this company cranks out until they betray me just like I do with Fromsoft....Also DLC not coming for while until they finish their Black Myth: Guan Zhou which is SURELY going to be wonderful too!

Gameplay SEEMS ok until you get to 10.

Having the necessary damage required to clean it is actual bullsh*t. Like .05% runs. Genuinely I hope to god you fix the balance on this guy have THREE FORMS NEEDING A TOTAL OF ABOUT 400HP WHEN I STRUGGLE TO PULL OFF 40 IN ONE TURN SOMETIMES AND DAMAGE FROM IT CLEARING 20 IN ONE TURN WITH LITTLE HP OR HEALING WITHOUT KILLING ENEMIES (actually bullsh*t again because while he DOES summon minions having the damage to make food from them which only does 5hp PER KILL with SPECIFIC SINGLE TARGET CARDS means you can TRY to heal 15 damage but getting hit with 25 because the one enemy you don't have energy for also throws in 5 damage on top of the 20.)


OR...

You do cleave/AOE skills and they can't do enough damage to hurt the bosses or give you enough buffs by then to take it out.

Please fix the balance or this will be removed from player accounts after like 4-8 hours of gameplay ensuring no future updates will be demanded and it will die unloved. I don't want that. I like this little game but please fix the balance!

Gunplay feels like borderlands.
Mobility is like Risk of Rain.
RPG has RNG but has a lot of fun grind to it.
Cowboy is worst in show which is a net negative.
Glider girl got a bit of a thangalang.
Guns are good.
Hopefully more guns soon.
One gun found at the bottom of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ map....Look for the building with long hallways a metal trap door the size of your average gas station.
