Nearly limitless character customization, with real depth. If you are clever you can make a build strong enough to actually break the game, and you won't even get banned for it. Truly a unique experience.

Oxygen not Included requires you to think of clever ways to use real physics to solve your colonies survival needs. You'll learn a bit about several disciplines of science without even noticing it. Its also fun. However it can be difficult to learn the best way to control your colonists and will be somewhat frustrating until you understand exactly how they make decisions.

The game feels grindy and repetitive for an action rpg, the result of boring gameplay.
The RPG elements are quite weak, mutations for example give a buff to your character for the rest of your run, but are usually weak and uninteresting. Often times the best one to choose is a boring 30% health increase.
The other weak element is the scrolls, they directly increase your damage and health by a percent and nothing else. Theres an opportunity here to have interesting choices between scrolls that affect your character in different ways, but they don't.
The weapons and items are interesting and most of them feel good to use. But good luck getting the ones you like, drops are random, and even once you get a blueprint drop you have to grind more to unlock it AND even once you unlock it you have to get the item randomly during your run which isn't very likely because there are a lot of wepaons and items.

The worst part about the game right now is it can only support 1 mod at a time, making it difficult even for modders to fix the games faults.

Early Access Review
From the Depths is a voxel building game, but its stands out from all the others I've played in one important area. Building an effective ship, plane, submarine or anything else is challenging and interesting. In most voxel building games the only challenge is making it look cool(Robocraft), but in FtD the level of detail in the design of weapons, defenses, movement and power means that making a vehicle that performs well is incredibly interesting. It takes time to learn the systems for creating what you want, but it is time well spent. At least for me learning how everything worked was a big part of the fun. I would reccomend this game to anybody who enjoys games the reward your creativity and enginuity, or are just tired of the simplicity and constriction of other voxel games.
