Can be finished within 15mins.

Most of my time was spent restarting to try and get a certain cliff-related RNG event. :D

But what a fun concept and all the references!

There once was a game called, 'Fallout Shelter'
Which was launched as a mobile people helper
It drained the batteries fast
But could surprisingly last
Unlike the game that came after.

Customisation is similar to how Blacklight: Retribution started.
Unfortunately not as polished looking as it could be graphics-wise.
Typical FPS.
Guns feel like... they have no kick to them? A machine-gun feels no different to an SMG or AR, I mean.
Pretty bad latency for people in Australia - not so surprising.
Fast-paced. If you prefer something similar to a F2P CoD, this should be... alright.
Sunlight blinds you hard btw, especially on the hospital map.

Otherwise:
- if you prefer something more faster pace and mobile - play Dirty Bomb, not to mention they got a pretty polished and great F2P model for what it is. Has modern aesthetic like this game and it's less serious but more character (to play and define it by). Similar weapons but more ability variation.
- if you prefer something that has more polish in terms of aesthetic and gunplay - play Blacklight, not to mention they have a defence mode, you can get other weapons in a match like a flamethrower, buy a mini-mech and use a tactical visor to wallhack. Futuristic aesthetic also a plus.
- I leave it up to you to decide whether this is the type of game to you. Not my kind of speed and feel unfortunately, but great job getting out of Early Access. The amount of modes is a major positive this game however!

Early Access Review
"It's amazing but somehow you did a review for this game!" - The game has a passably wonderful level of Engrish but it gets it's point across well enough. EVEN IN ANCIENT CHINA GENERALS STILL DON'T WANT TO PUSH THE OBJECTIVE! FUUUUUUUUUUU----

I'm going to put this first and foremost - I am very impressed with the level of accuracy in this game's weapons and armour. While the tutorial level armour with all the silver resembles something toward the Korean, most of the armour is about as historically accurate as you can get, there's even the rather curious inclusion of the Shanwenkia (Mountain Pattern armour). I love how they even include the three dagger-axe variation of a halberd.. XD.

But there are a huge variety of weapons and armour in this game that many I'm sure never heard of as most medieval focus is on Europe and the West. And the DW series is getting more influenced by the Western armour unfortunately. Lu Bu's armour is a very wonderful interpretation of his historical drawings.

Now to the review of the game.
- At the moment there is no inclusion of the Roman Faction, which is itself an interesting choice to include in a game like this.
- The game handles between a Mount and Blade combat system, four directional attacks and blocks with a block-breaking kick, and Dynasty Warriors setting, meaning the famous Three Kingdom's Period minus the ability to kill 1000 soldiers in a single match.
- I've only been able to play the Battle of Hulao Gate in the PvE matches but PvP has a wider variety of maps (4-7) not including Seige at higher levels (I've only seen one so far).
- Seige Mode is very fun, being able to use catapults and ballistas to fight against the enemy, they operate as well as you'd expect - the catapults being somewhat accurate and the ballistas great for singular targets. And unlike Mount and Blade you can go outside and stop your enemy from using catapults or using their seige rams, you can pour flaming pots from gates and block off passages with a powerful shield wall.
- Combat is a bit sluggish at the moment and sometimes there are a few moments where hitting the opponent doesn't register despite it obviously going through them or weapon swings connecting where it shouldn't. (I'm looking at you Lu Bu, chasing an ally with a charge then spinning around 180 and stabbing me behind in an instant.
- Press X with a spear or pike (it'll be mentioned in the weapon description if it can) and it'll be braced, letting you stand still while horseman and soldiers alike impale themselves on the pointy end. This is an essential strategy to pikeman and spearman, find the adjustant with a correct formation and create a pike array that even the Spartans will be proud of.
- The three orbs on the side of the attack circle indicate the attack of a combo. Three orbs mean that the weapon has three strikes in a combo, not explained in the tutorial but it's timed to the end of the first swing and half of the second. You can also charge your weapon attack up for something more powerful.

Helpful Tips for this current build, not directly told in the game:
Tech Tree:
- Wei is focused on Pikemen and horsemen with glaives.
- Wu: Bowman and Swordsman capable of wrecking full squads with AoE. (Sailor's In White are particularly the most OP units in the game I've encountered, having watched them wreck through two Pike Arrayed squads of Wei and my own archers firing at them from behind and still have 3/4 of the one squad remain.
- Shu is focused toward crossbow cavalry and footmen with axes.
- Each faction has a unique focus on different weaponry and as such if you wish to use certain weapons you must work on 2-3 trees at once. E.g I like Shu cavalry but I like using bows and polearms to fight on foot which means I needed to get bows from Wu, Horses from Shu or Wei and spears/polearms from Wei.

Other Helpful Tips:
- An adjutant is highly important to the available buffs and formations in your army and such is it important to
get the second as he is so much better both stats and formation wise.
- The Help menu says that the 'Repeating Crossbow button' however, looking through the trees, Zhuge Liang's repeating crossbow is not available.
- Check the stats on the weapons, much like real life, hitting someone with the haft of a polearm is not as damaging as a the pointy/sharp ends.
- Tutorials will give you some pretty great stuff including Prestige and copper that'll be useful in the first few levels.
- An average PvE match will net you around 1000-3000 copper per play at Easy level with only the introduction stopping at breaking down the gate, depending on how well you play. Medium diffuculty will get you 16k (what I usually get) per play and will let you fight Lu Bu again except this time you pursue him.
- Have your units move in formation into a battle, rather than in formation in battle because they'll be in such a dissarray that it'll take too much time or the AI for your units will get themsevles killed.

Other things to address -
- Getting an S doesn't mean coming first on the leaderboard, it appears to be the score of 6500-7000 points.
- Being primarly an archer general, the F5 key is very useful for observing the map and focusing fire on certain areas (your units can shoot in an upwards arc to rain arrows down.) Functions much like the artillary in World of Tanks.

Bugs I've experienced -
- the game going into a windowed mode after every match, despite going to 1920 x 1080 resolution... speaking of which.
- there is no 'Fullscreen' option, just a 'Windowed' tick or no tick.
- I am unable to see Sun Shang Xiang as an available option in the store to be purchased as a adjutant despite seeing other people having her on the field.
- Horse and I flying high into the air and getting stuck.
- Getting stuck on a wall and being unable to move out of it.
- Weapon and units failing to attack despite being getting attacked on.

Notes:
- Not all units are unlocked at the moment and as such the current units such as Shu archers, Wei horse archers or Wu.. another swordsman tree (?) are unavailable. Rome units are also in the works. So, it appears the Wei is heavy cavalry, Wu is foot units and Shu being a mix.
- I am joined to the Asia server due to not being able to figure out whether Americas or Europe would be better for an Australian.

Final Review:
PURSUE LU BU, HE IS A COWARD AT FIRST. But he is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ powerful. Pursued Lu Bu and killed Red Hare to knock him off. He got very pissed. Lots of spinny AoE attacks as well, current cheese appears to be standing on the sandbags to the East while he tries to hit you but apparently its been fixed despite it still working. Apparently, there won't be a wipe post-early access. So will review again when it comes out.

You are not reading this. This game does not exist.

This game was never in your library.

You are simply playing Cookie Clicker with a dough-mound kneeding DLC.

Early Access Review
First tutorial in a game that actually scared me without even needing to have a monster.

Oh, and remember how flashlights work, because people seem to forget that it gives you away... obviously.

Had a Matrix subway shootout on 3rd floor.
Emptied magazines in mid-air while falling to ground floor.
Other players watched as we punched each other to death.
Random person shotgunned the winner.

-0.5/10 I became John Woo Simulator

Premiere Tourist View Bench-Sitting simulator. 11/10 would sit to screenshot again.

------------------------------------

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons can be both described as art and game in one, though to call it as a game by itself would be injustice in a sense. An experience would be more befitting considering through how the narrative is told. However, like some tales - it's best having heard once or after being forgotten in narration in my opinion.

This is a game that blends showing the essence of what it's about with the gameplay and telling you what it is with its world.

From a small village, this tale is told through gestures and a Simlish-like language that can be understood as easy as though you've learnt it all your life, the brothers Naiee and Naia set off on a journey that is both grandiose in scale and meaning. It will take you from warmth of civilisation and community to the cold isolation and loneliness, from beneath the earth, deep valleys and into the mountains piercing the sky leaving the clouds and lights of the normal world below. I will not spoil the locations and areas of the game but it can certainly be said that the none of the effort to put the player into the world goes unnoticed.

Being a game that revolves around the two brothers, the mechanics are all playing with about four buttons, six if you want to include the camera movement keys. I found it easy to coordinate the brothers, each having a side of the PS3 controller I was using - big brother on the left stick and trigger and little brother on the right stick and trigger. Symbolic in nature and in the game itself especially near the epilogue.

As for someone like myself who adores lore in games, this is one that is best left to the imagination like Dark Souls. The story behind this world is certainly bright at first but taken through each one carefully one must wonder about the world the brothers live in. The scale and design of the creatures while familiar are just different in some way to make it unique in the world.

But it certainly is not a happy game, I say here that it's quite dark, you'll know when I mention the word - Ice.

It most definitely is a beautiful game though, even the developers know that, since they conveniently place benches for the two to sit on while the camera pans to whatever panoramic view it wonderfully wants to show. Which does kind of bring me out of the game every once in a while when its in a very questionable location, but hey, its good to take a break from adventuring is it not?

I just have to say that I didn't feel the massive experience or the feelings supposedly other people have playing the game. Even playing with headphones, screen in front, controller in hand and 2AM in the morning to play uninterrupted. It is by no fault of the game though, I just simply was able to guess what was happen, the game does a good job of foreshadowing things whether intentional or not.

I did experience some odd bugs in the game that took me out of the experience at times - black figures of characters would appear next to the actual character that would show something.

All in all - play it, it's cheap and an experience that might change how you see how arts and games and game mechanics can be made to be one.
