Meh, personally found the gameplay to be too slow paced and boring when playing solo. The puzzles in each level aren't that difficult to figure out, so majority of one's efforts and time is spent dealing with the awkward ragdoll physics, which gets tiring fast.

Maybe its better with friends, but as a solo game, there are better platforming puzzle games out there.

I mean it’s pretty good, but there are probably better games out there.

(Seriously though, this is the highest rated game on Steam, there is statistically no game on Steam better than this.)

Worms Armageddon (1999) has way better gameplay and more active online players than Worms Rumble (2021)

It's like a Touhou game, but you're the one making the crazy bullet patterns for the enemies to dodge (and they never do).

MASTERPIECE.

Plants vs Zombies is a tower defense game that’s easy to learn for casuals, but with plenty of different strategies to grasp for pro players. It has an amazing soundtrack and cute graphics. There’s tons of replay value, and an active community with plenty of mods. All for ~$5 and not a single microtransaction.

It's just too bad that there isn't a worthy sequel to this game, yep, none whatsoever...

I'm an AVGN fan but honestly I have No Time to finish this game.

Let's start with the good:

The graphics and soundtrack are awesome. The crude humour is funny, plus the boss fights and character cameos really show that the design team knew the source material well, it really does have the AVGN feel to it.

Now for the bad:
Which is unfortunately, the gameplay.

Take a well-designed platformer like Celeste. Its a very challenging game, yet I enjoy playing it and have the drive to beat it. This is because in addition to having amazing soundtrack, graphics and storyline, the gameplay is absolutely solid. New mechanics are introduced throughout stages, the difficulty curve generally ramps up smoothly and most importantly, the game never feels unfair or tedious.

Now on the other hand, the obstacles and enemies in AVGN adventures are just mostly reskins of each other stages, and so there doesn't seem to be much variety in terms of level design (other than the boss fights). The game sometimes gets too challenging to the point where it becomes unfair.

You have invisible tiles, falling trap tiles, and the insta-death skull blocks with some of the worst hit boxes ever in a video game. And those skull blocks are in EVERY stage, usually in tight corners or difficult sections to add artificial difficulty. Oh and spoilers, there is a 9th and final stage that is basically a troll level, just intentional bad level design and is just unfair and not fun at all to play.

Not to mention, every time you die, you are forced to see a death screen with AVGN rage quips, which you can't skip. And you will die a ton of times in this game. It's funny the first few times, but afterwards, it gets really frustrating and impedes your progress. In Celeste, you respawn immediately after you die so you can quickly try again and gain the muscle memory needed to beat tough sections. Having an unskippable death screen is a time waster and a big distraction.

Overall, even though I’m a fan of AVGN, their first official video game is just whatever in terms of fun factor, there are definitely better platformers out there.
