This game managed to hit a spot game wise that personally for me hasn’t happened since Ni no Kuni wrath of a white witch that came out in 2011, Its whole Action turn based style is amazing and plays well albeit having a bit of performance trouble overall, I’ll make a more in-depth review below but there will be certain spoilers

To start with, The soundtrack composed by Lorien Testard is an amazing show to how classical and classical crossover music can just be amazing for a game, it manages to hit the tone and the feeling often required in the game, and also manages to even mix in songs to get an even better experience See Sophies Death, the usage of Reverence, Renoir and Lost voice to convey it there’s many memorable and many amazing tracks in general and some even more impressive if you think about the fact it’s a guy taken from SoundCloud and an indie gaming forum randomly. Theres also the general amazing OST's around boss fights and having both lore and story within the lyrics and the title, even with my little understanding of French I have entirely enjoyed most of them Especially "We Lost" which is the hardest boss in the game Simons ost for phase 2


The story itself albeit having some interesting twists and turns can be harder to follow than expected Most of the story takes place in act 1 and 2 but some of the more interesting twists come very late on, Alot feels left empty by certain quotes or certain character actions See verso calling Maelle Alicia after the Old Lumiere Fight or Start of act 3 where we get the twist of the real vs "fake" world the story has a lot of good beats to certain things you can get to think about, many of which I won’t leave here just for someone who reads this to discover themselves, i loved the story, and I would love to replay the entire game blind to its story again

World design itself fits well with what we know, we have The Paintress, she paints a number on the monolith and therefore must be our big bad. We see some very interesting world designs everywhere, anything from an above land Ocean biome to a massive forest to entire mansions and caves. Traversal of this massive landscape feels amazing with Esquie especially when you get his flight/swim abilities

Game feels like it has an "infinite possibility" to make amazing builds, there’s anything from Amazingly Overpowered 1 shot boss builds down to make a character as supportive for everyone as possible

some of the only real "downsides" to this game I have experienced is for NG+ where Music discs and journals aren’t transferred over to the new game meaning you have to start from scratch collecting them


Overall I can recommend this game, for a small studio they did amazingly, everything fits together so well to give a feeling and an Atmosphere that every piece your given has a solution to a puzzle, i've bought the game twice, 100%'ed it on ps5 and then rebought it on pc to both give my support but also Have a secondary place to play this Masterpiece of a game.

For 50 euro it is a must play honestly, priced way under the normal AAA game while feeling the same quality as the last few years
