This is a very solid colony sim/4X game. I play both of these genres quite a bit and this checks a lot of boxes for both.

Prose:
Performance: Buttery smooth. Up to 500 pop and still no frame drop or slowdown on max speed.
Scale: This game allows for massive scale. Thousands of pops all simulated. Each pop simulated and living out individually on the map.
Combat: Total war style combat with formation movements, routing/moral mechanics. Cavalry, infantry and archers. You train and outfit your own troops out of your own pops with a good scale of customization.
Management: management tools seem to be on par for a game of this scale. I haven't hit late game yet but haven't had any difficulty knowing what is going on in my city and having the tools to make the adjustments I need to. Any problems have been mistakes on my part, not the game.
Soundtrack: Good overall soundtrack, nothing crazy but not annoying and feels right for the setting of the game.
Customization: You can create custom maps, battles, and playthroughs allowing the player to have a lot of the experiences they desire.

Cons:
Graphics: In order to allow for the scale and performance of the game the graphics are pretty simple and a bit rough. This doesn't bother me personally, as I prefer gameplay over graphics, but may be a turn off to some players.
UI: The UI is not intuitive. All of the needed tools are present in the game, but not always intuitive to find. It doesn't take away from the game in any way but adds a bit more of a learning curve then I believe it needed too.

Overall very solid game. Hard to put down. The demo has most of the core features so I highly suggest giving it a shot. Nothing to loose on the demo.

Very fun. You can break the game and it is so satisfying when you do.

"Don't go out there little buddy it's dangerous!" Falls back and instantly gets killed by mortar. My first experience as a Private in Foxhole 10/10 would get blown up again... and again.

Going to address some of the things I've read and then give my own take.

In terms of performance: game runs very well for me. No issues, I had one bug where having v sync on and frame cap caused stutter but once I disabled frame cap had no problems. I do have a decent set up but I'm 2 gens behind on GPU/CPU. My wife is rocking a PC that was built in 2016 with one GPU upgrade since and she runs the game at 4K, so maybe skill issue?

Ongoing development: I also want to say it here dev has said they are not dropping the game after 1.0 release and there have been multiple updates since release. That said patches and fixes can come slow with indie games due to a small dev teams. I think it's one dev in this case with some outside help (could be wrong). Road map is realistic and so far has been kept.

Jumping into my own take: I the procedural and consistent generation are truly amazing. Every aspect of the word feels alive. Each person has 23 unique data points that identify them and effect how they interact with the rest of the word. On top of that NPCs have contacts and places they frequent as well as work rotations.

Game is on the slow side and tedious, but super engaging and immersive. I state this game is fun to play and a drag to watch. For me it's slow but extremely engaging. There are not scripted events (Outside The Dead of Night tutorial case). Simply an NPC becomes a killer, interacts with the world and leaves traces as they do. So when I spent 30 minutes going over camera footage in the game I am engaged but probably lame to someone watching.

I think the game needs more POIs. There is a good selection but since matching POI types are the same regardless of the map you can end up with a lot of matching tiles between new games generations.

I think everything is there for this game, but there just needs to a little more to close the deal. I think the game is close to worth the asking price of $30 but definitely worth it if bought on sale. Personally though I have gotten $30 of value out of this game at time of writing.

At time of writing I would give this game 9/10. I think there are no major flaws at this time. I just hope the devs keep on keeping on. I would just like to see a little bigger selection of POIs and I think that extra one point would be there.

Good game, takes the core game of outlast to a coop platform. Game is definitely an adult game so if you are considering this game as a parent I would stay away.

Currently Game offers less than FS22. Really was excited for this game and hope that it meets expectations in the future. Right now it feels like they kept content out of the game to sell in peaces in DLC in the future. I really hope I am wrong though. The AI is different but arguably slightly worse than FS22. Right now this seems like a graphics mod for FS22 with half the content. I have submitted this for a refund at this time and suggest you wait to see where this game goes for now. I may change my review in the future as content is rolled out.

Game is great. First PVP game I have played in a long time that feels like it has a soul. Devs listen to the players and regularly make small balance changes. A lot of people like to whine for some reason about what they get in free to play. The game tells you exactly what you do and do not get for free. I did pay for legendary edition and honestly after 100 hours I have barely left the content that you get in free to play. The devs did recently give more to free to play with over 25 gear score lobbies. So even the quite frankly ridiculous complaint about free to play being false marketing has been taken care of. Thank you to the devs if you read this you have faced a lot of BS from the rip and still have an awesome product. Keep up the good work.

In the current state the dev team got axed and the game is maybe 30% complete. To be fair I'd probably fire a dev team that released a game this broken and far behind schedule. In the games current state it is not even worth 20$ much less the asking price. The potential is there, if the devs pull there head out of their ass I may change my review but at this time I strongly discourage this game. Just go play KSP 1 which is still a great game.

Would be good if the useful features weren't now locked behind a paywall. I used to use this. I would even pay for the features but not as a subscription. I would say even $30 would be reasonable but it shakes out to $120 a year which this tool is not worth.

Amazing game, best way I can describe it is a colony sim that plays like a dungeon crawler. Each time you go into a dangerous zone you have no idea what your about to run into and what will be required to deal with it.

The best part is that the game constantly changes what you can build and utilized in terms of buildings, resources, and perks each game. There is not meta build because you don't get to dictate the entire path of your tech tree. You are instead given a choice of three building techs, and you have to decide how to best work with the tech you have. The game also does not award you tech for sitting back and watching a wheel spin until the tech you want/need pops up. Tech is awarded by completing challenging objectives to you always have to figure out how to work with the tech have to get the job done in order to have the chance to get something to energize with what you have. You don't even get to fully pick what races your colony is composed of forcing you to adapt your play style each play-through. If you want a game with variable challenge (5 difficulties with the two I have played feeling significantly different to play) and a huge amount of replay ability then I highly recommend this game. Also I wouldn't be scared off for by the early access tag. game has more content than many full release games and I have seen zero bugs so far in the 20 hours I have in.
